Congrats man! That's awesome news! I also think it is cool that the mother is thinking into the future and acting for the betterment of her child.

I dont know you but im happy for you. I have a daughter, 2 stepdaughters and one step grand daughter. I take care of them all with the wife. The granddaughter was not supposed to happen but it did and im the only papa /dad she has. You and your wife are good people, dont ever forget that. That baby will have a great life because of you and your wife. Im a little rough around the edges but I love my family, blood or not. Family is family no matter the situation, I think you guys are awesome and are in for a great time.

I was real hesitant at first to agree to adoption. I just didn't know if I could love a child that wasn't blood as much as I should. Well what convinced me was my best friends little girl who is my godchild came to stay with us. That was one the best weeks I had had in years. It was a real eye opener for me. In fact I advised him and his wife not to check there brake lines next time she wasn't in the truck. Actually they just called me tonight and told me they have another one on the way...:thumb: If this one is as cute as their other little girl they really need to keep an eye one those brakes.;)

Huge congratulations to you both. My wife wanted kids more than life itself. After three years of trying she came to bed one night crying and said she knew it wasn't meant to be and she was going to move on. Pressure off her now. She was pregnant in 4 months. Good luck to you both. Don't be surprised if magic happens for you too.

Its cool that you have such a good outlook on being adopted. One of my fears is that he might have some sore of sense of rejection. The birth mother feels that she is giving us a gift.

*******Update*****

I was asked by another member for a update, so I thought I would just update this thread for everyone. I will touch on everything and then post in more details when I have more time and answer any question anyone might have. Via PMs or on here. Your experiences will very every state has its own adoption laws.

Jr. was born in Sept. and the birthmother did go through with the adoption. In fact we did just finalize the adoption on Fri. 61/2 months after he was born. We couldn't be happier.

My take on adoption. It sucks plain and simple it sucks a lot, but worth every second of it. First you have to get over the fact you are going to have several people analyze your families' and your life to get something any teenager can make in the backseat of a car. Hopefully you have a very supportive family like us in your choice to adopt, because sometime they ain't. You have classes to take on parenting and what to expect from adoption. You have back ground checks and home studies to do. You have to put together your "shopping list". Do you want an infant or teenager, race, sex, possible mental health issues(birthmothers drug use), in state or international? Our adoption agency was very supportive and we where comfortable with them. This is key its a stressful process and your emotions are going to be pushed. Then you make a book that is given out to expecting birthmothers. It will be your life story and how your going to "sell" yourself to the birthmother. We agonized over making it second guessing what we should and shouldn't put. You have to decide what level of contact you are conferable with having with the birthmother after birth. Yes after birth they will want to see that "their" child is being well taken care of and happy. Just like any of us want for our children. The birthmother can back out at any point (according to state law) and your out any financial support you have given her. You want her taken care of while she is carrying your child IE rent, food, care for other children, and ETC. Afterbirth hopefully everything goes well and your child goes home with you and then your starting the down hill side. In our case all we had to is not do something stupid and get him taken away from us. The adoption agency is responsible for the child for 6 months until Finalization. In those 6 months you will have a few home visits, reports for the agency, and meetings with the agency. Painless for the most part.

Props to you and the family. That's something I doubt I would have the balls to do.

Right down the road if y'all need anything! :thumb:

Well after almost 6 years I was finely able to buy me a child, and a boy to boot. :woott: We did infertility treatments for 4 years. Then decided it was time to except that it wasn't going to happen, so we must be meant to adopt. We have been going through the adoption process for the last 11/2 years and met with our first birth mother the other week. She pretty much had her mind made up and wanted to pick us even before meeting us. She is a sweet college girl that has one kid and knows she can't support another. And wants to give a couple that can't have kids the joy of children. Dozerboy Jr. will be born in Sept. The great thing about this is my wife looks amazing considering we will have a baby boy in a couple months.

Congratulations!!!!:happy2:

My sister and brother inlaw went thru the same thing buddy. They did invetro, the whole 9 yards. They adopted a little baby boy 3 years ago this past January and they couldn't be happier. He is such a great little guy, that it made my wife and I start trying...;)

Smokinlmm jr is due in 4 weeks!!!:happy2:
