Well tonight was going great right up till we cracked the POS stock trans cooler. I had new lines made for the cooler and somewhere between pulling the old fittings out and installing the new fittings, the cooler cracked right below the driver side fitting.
We tried to repair it but that was an epic fail so I had to weld some fittings together and bypass the front cooler. I have a few spares at my dads so tomorrow I will be replacing it.
Fuel system is working great though. Filled the fuel cell up tonight with a whopping 14 gallons + 5 gallons we managed to get out of the stock tank. Replaced the stock fuel filter with a frame mounted BD filter and ran all new fuel lines to the motor.
Installed the DTS stainless down pipe and hot side IC tube tonight. Fit and finish was spot on and the welding on the DTS downpipe was 10x cleaner than on the Diamond Eye. Also where the flanges met the tubing was clean with no rough or high edges like on the Diamond eye.
Hopefully tomorrow I can get the water/meth tank mounted in the frame rails and re-route all the lines along with moving the solenoids over to the driver side of the engine bay.
Still have lots to do before Friday night. I love waiting till the last minute!....
Why did you take out the front diff Ben?
Its getting re geared. Waiting a seal that will be in tomorrow.
Did the manifolds/up-pipes and wheel make a noticeable difference?
Huge! The top end pulls a lot harder now and the charger lights almost instantly. I can pretty much steer with the rear tires leaving from a dead stop. The exhaust has a different sound but I will see how much it changes when I put the stacks back on.
