Where and why are you using red loctite? I must have missed this part:eek: when I did this the first time i just used a little silicone on the o'rings to get them to slide in better. is that not right?

Its best to use some red loctite on the bottom of the injector cups to get a good seal doesnt hurt to add some to the 2nd oring down also.

  1. If the injector sleeve is pulled from the cylinder head when removing the injector, the injector sleeve installation procedure is as follows:
Important:
An injector sleeve with scoring or other damage must be replaced.
The stamped letter R or L must face up. R is the right bank and L is the left bank.
  1. 1.1. Set the new injector sleeve gaskets (1) to the injector sleeve (2).
1.2. Apply sealant (LOCTITE 272 or equivalent) to the lower sealing area of injector sleeve.

Thanks. i feel like a newbie again. I didn't remember doing this the first time. So i am guessing by reading this it goes at the bottom of the cup to head area and some on the second oring also. Good thing I haven't put the new ones in yet. Thats why i love this site, everyone loves to help out, i really appreciate it, thanks again.

Well, it was nice. Truck ran around good but I have some valve adjustment problems. It sounded like a helicopter at idle and I saw another guy had a thread about this and it turned out the adjustment screw backed out on an intake valve. Well the helicopter sound went away during my second test drive today but then it went to doing the same sound except extremely loud and almost a second apart. I bet I bent a pushrod or something happened with the valves.I was skeptical of the valve adjustment when I put it back together because a few valves on each of the two adjustment positions on the harmonic balancer had the adjustment screw completely backed out and I still couldn't get a feeler gauge in there. We even rotated the engine a few times to see if it helped and it was still the same. I found some weird stuff when taking this truck apart like missing parts for the rocker arm shaft and the head was alot cleaner on that side than the other. I remember backing a few valve adjustment screws completely out when taking the rocker arm shaft apart and it still didn't take all of the tension off. Has anybody had any trouble like that with valve adjustment? I'm out of time to work on this so I think I'm going to take it to a good shop. I hope it is something with valve adjustment but it still boggles my mind why a couple of them were way backed out and still couldn't get a feeler gauge in there. Hopefully they can get to the bottom of the problem without getting to the bottom of my wallet. On a positive note, the pressurized coolant problem seems to be taken care of, and my odd ticking/valve noise at high RPM's up a hill went away.
