just curious if the torque converter failed from no abusive use at all why would you buy another one? Sounds like I might try a different brand?

That converter just cost you BIG dollars!

i didnt buy another one, I had it rebuilt buy someone that Mike trusts, he told me to send it to Precision for a reason.

I am not sure what the reasoning behind the failure of the converter was, maybe Mike can shed some light on that, but thats life.... does it suck that I have been without my truck for over a month? yes, does it suck that its going to cost me $$, yes, but what am i gonna do? I can bitch and complain but what is that going to do for me?

yes they can..... not a big deal though, Mike called me today and reassured me that the gouge on the inner ring is a non-issue and it should be no problem to seal the flange with some RTV. -Jeff

if the cooler doesnt get here is there a way to bypass it so I can be back on the road? it will only be short trips, no more than 10 miles and mostly freeway driving. -Jeff

trans is in, all seems well, I forgot that I needed to do brakes! Dang thing is squeaking up a storm! 104,000 miles in the original brakes isnt too bad though!

My only issue was the starter, I had broken the solenoid a couple years ago and figured while it was out i would replace it, got one from the dealer, $80, put it together and went to fire the truck up and click click click, took it out again and tested it, toast! called up NAPA, they only had one at their main store (30min away) jump in the shop truck and head down there, get back about an hour later and put it together fired right up and off I went!

Maybe next week I will have time to do the brakes and install my MITUSA!!!!
