Check on the rear end of the new CTS-V and make sure that it dosnt have the same rear as the CTS-V that had 400hp. Friend works at a Caddy dealer, had alot of problem with those rears with even slightly aggressive drivers... Not saying you are an aggressive driver or anything :D

Once the 05 CTS-V is sold Kat, This is the direction my mom is going to go. The interior is very nice, the exterior is also much better looking. Plus at 550hp this car will be fast.

How much coin for that bad boy, you think?

mid 60's I would guess.

That actually is a steal considering that the new M3 sells for that optioned out and has 130ish less hp and is much smaller. The M5, I'm thinking is in the mid to upper 70's and the Caddy will still feed the bigger BMW weinerschnitzel for lunch.

New M5 is like 90,000$ to 100,000$ with the SMG package.

Stuck in a P7100 world.
Whats the point in driving a M5 and paying what you pay for it when you can get a diesel truck for half the price fully loaded, and spend the money you'd have spent on the M5 on adding enough power to make an M5 look bad?

Anyone see the rumors floating around about BMW possibly turbocharging (rumor speculates single or even twins) the 09 (i think) M5 to push the power/performance envelope to keep up with MBZ and others?

Well they start in the lower 80's and optioned out can top 90k, so I did low ball it at 70k. The AMG's are just ridiculously priced. If the Caddy can hang with the Merc's and Bmw's on the track and in terms of luxury, then it would be a no brainer.

I figured out why GM is supercharging the big dogs these days. E85! Supercharged engines run excellent on the stuff and it is way cheaper than 92. Only problem is the horrible smell.:fart:

I got a chance to thrash the old CTS-V at Bondurant. It was a great car back then.

Magazines that are Amerophobic (fear of Detroit) gave it glowing reviews on it's engineering. IIRC, they trashed it's plastic interior, because German and Japanese Plastic Interiors are made from special Magic Plastic, not that crummy American Plastic.
