alot of the turbos are great. like you said maxx the thing that i love about my turbo is the way that i can tune it anyway that i want to. your price int exactly right on them either. i think a 68mm is 2750 dollars. again there are alot of good turbos out there and some maybe cheaper than the cheetah's. even brayden will tell you that. but i love mine and i have no plans of putting anything but a bigger one on my truck :D. also trent i did say that some trucks are freaks when it comes to their fuel systems. and alot of it has to do with tunning as well you truck does run very good though

Cool get a 66 then... I started out with some BANKS stuff.... then EFI... then some other crap... then a frame off race/resto truck... Torque is like crack! Tough to put the pipe down.

Mustangs won't be any trouble. Get after the motorcycles they get really wierd on ya!

600 is just what i hope for. I would like no less than 575hp. I just want it.. If that makes sense... I haven't even raced my truck on a strip yet. But i will eventually. I just like picking on the mustangs in town. They can't believe that i can almost keep up as it is now.. And i want BRAGGING rights. 600 is just a number i would like BUT 575 is the least i will take. LoL. greedy i know.

there are plenty of people who think they have 600 hp then go to the strip and its more like 525 . a verbal # meens absolutly nothing . if 600 is your goal and you have to tow save yourself some money and go straight to the standard twins . just my opinion . also it wont take more than 500 or so to take care of those stangs with ease .

Sorry Dude, I stand corrected. No doubt the Cheetas are great chargers, tunable like a stocker. Nice.

Maybe they'll make a 76-80mm some day?

oh i wasnt jumping on you maxx just letting you know. and there are a couple of people on this site that will have 76mm cheetahs with a 3in. turbine very soon :D:cool2:

I liked my 68mm Cheetah, love that it's tunable, and moves all the air you need. With a single stock LBZ CP3 I was out of fuel to offer and was running 12.3s

Maybe they'll make a 76-80mm some day?

there are a couple of people on this site that will have 76mm cheetahs with a 3in. turbine very soon :D:cool2:

How does a GT4202 conpressor on a ball bearing VVT with a 3.0 turbine exducer sound? I'll know very soon:cool:

The Cheetah is variable - it is actually a modified stock turbo. The HTT is fixed geometry.

For variable chargers there aren't many choices:

Cheetah by Fleece performance - 64, 68 and 71.5mm versions they maching the factory compressor housing for the bigger wheel and also run a machined aftermarket turbine wheel in the stock housing

Danville - 64 and 68mm versions in stage 1 and stage 2 variations. Stage 1 the compressor housing is machined for the bigger compressor wheel but otherwise stock LLY charger. Stage 2 adds custom vanes and the high flow turbine wheel found the the Garrett AVNT 37

Garrett AVNT 37 - basically Garretts answer to Fleece and Danvilles chargers but testing has shown that they don't perform quite as well as the 68 or bigger of either the Cheetah or Danville

Garrett AVNT 40 - A bigger AVNT from Garrett that we are awaiting test results from PPE on to see if it stacks up to the bigger Cheetah and Danville Chargers

Other than that it's custom, there are other shops that will put a bigger compressor on a stock LLY or LBZ turbo for you. I'm getting the 3.0 in 3.0 out ball bearing VVT made by Fleece.

So they still use the same size Turbine housing flanges being they are modded stock chargers? Thanks again:)

I think they use the same housings but they have been machined, obviously to fit bigger wheels and stuff.

I just put a 66mm HTT on, no complaints.

There are plenty of people that have made good power with both. My vote is for the HTT though, I friggen hate tuning the VVT. Everytime you make one change you almost gotta go back and redo your entire boost/vane table setup.

So whats the compressor map on these cheethas as they can't be the same as another turbo with the same wheels since the housing is different. Just wanting to know for my info.

to be honest steve i dont know if there is a map for them. i think the best way to get the most out of them is to have a drive pressure gauge. that is best way to tune them. i dont have one but someone i know does :hug: and from what i am told by him with the tables that we are running we are very close to 1:1 :D

I would go with the HTT.

All the guys who have them have excellent luck, they are cheaper than the cheetah, come with a 3.5" down pipe in the kit, support 700hp and are rebuildable w/ larger wheel option for around $500.00.

600hp no problem.

When Sweetdiesel had his HTT on his '05 LLY, he had it tuned so it ran almost 1:1 drive pressure and spooled faster than his stocker. He even had it so it would spool too fast sometimes!:D It really surprised me!

Non-VVT turbo's can be tuned to run just as well or better that VVT's so in the end, IMO, it just comes down to cost or preference.

I doubt it. Likely you will freeze the vanes up trying to spool to quick!;)
