Im thinking about droppin some coin on a turbo. Money is kind of tight but I found a used SS HTT Promax with install kit for 1600 or I was thinkin about getting the 68mm Cheetah. What do you think would be the best choice? Is the HTT legal in the 2.6 class? I think I might want to attend a few sled pulls when I can but whats faster in the 1/4 is what interests me most. Which one do you think I will make the most power with with the stock CP3?
Thanks
Nate

HTT all the way. TurboTug put down 588 to the wheels with a single kennedy lift pump, EFI and the HTT 66. He will surely make over 600 when he gets a few more fuel mods.

They are easy to get rebuilt, upgraded and last a long time.

Fleece also put down 598hp on a stock CP3 and a lift pump on an LBZ with the 64mm Cheetah. IIRC the 68mm put down ~ 630. At that price I would still say the HTT but wanted to post the 64mm and 68mm Cheetah numbers on single CP3 since the HHT numbers were posted.

jneal's truck put down 630 on the 64 mm charger and 730 on the 71.5. but for the price i would go with the htt

I don't wanna turn this into a bashing thread but come on with a 64 mm wheel turbo he made basically 600hp...? No way my turbo is larger than that there is no way im making 600hp. Dyno's dont mean anything unless they are backed up with 1/4 times. Brayden ran Jneals truck into the 11's fine... he backed up that Dual CP3 dyno but still that dyno seems to put up higher numbers than it should.

the HTT all the way. 1600$ is a joke compared to 3250 $ for a cheetah.

i will be comparing his 64mm cheetah numbers with my S64X numbers this spring. i will be making it down to Jannetty's superflow dyno in CT. I am almost sure that I am making 600 or more with a single CP3, i am going to try to max this thing out at 700 HP. and see how long the motor lasts:D maybe with injectors and limited high hp use i am hoping for another year :cool2:

Both of us that posted Cheetah numbers said that at that price go with the HTT. Beach it was 598 on stock LBZ CP3, 630 on a modded CP3 IIRC.

For the weight of the truck and the 1/4 that it ran 730 sounds pretty damn close to me. You say you don't want to bash then basically call them liars and say that a 64mm turbo can't make 600hp? MarkBroviac has made ~585 on an LLY with his 64mm modded VVT charger (stock exhaust turbine) and a single CP3 as well. Keep in mind these guys are all pullers that are not very interested in racing and they still went and drag raced Jneal's truck to back up the 700+hp dyno numbers. What more proof do you want? Also LLY's have dynoed over 500hp on stock turbo and LBZs around 550hp, so if you think that with a 4094 there is no way you are making 600hp maybe you should be working on your tuning, or give Neens a chance to tune it for the new turbo.

they changed from the 64mm to a 71.5. they over speed the 64mm when they put duel pumps on. the 64 was never intended to run as high as they where running it with duel pumps
