I've not seen one in person but from my testing I can believe it!!

Sorry to see your troubles Matt:(, that really sucks to see. Hopefully when you pull the S475 off its okay. If you need any parts let me know, I've got a few IHI's sitting around, haha:roflmao:. I've got intercoolers, boost tubes, and other as well.

What people do is install an air regulator between the IHI cover port and waste gate. You then adjust the air regulator such that on your highest tune your EGT's are the lowest and your back pressure isn't high. It takes some time but a good way to get your system dialed in. Did I explain it right James??:D
Read through this thread, theres some good info. Air regulator adjustment

The only issue is, you have not done any testing in a compound setup. the high pressure works differently. like when we talked and you told me about all the barking the charger would get with the batmowheel in place but i have experienced none of that, even my 800hp dyno pulls and chopping the throttle at the end at 60+ psi. all i got was a sneeze from the 480. :D

the regulator setup, i started that way. i actually found i need to just have the gate shut off like a pair of juice grips on the wastegate line :D. alot of that may have to do with Russ port and polish job though, before i had the gate opening at about 25psi overall boost and it kept things around 50psi overall boost. With the OPs boost valve and nothing else, hes probably driving the 475 more than he needs too but that should only be helping the stock charger. im driving the hell out of mine and its been just fine. Im pretty sure we didnt balance my modded stocker, did we Russ?

You're correct, I've not done any testing and I did mis that fundamental factor of the high pressure turbo; thanks for pointing out I missed that, I have my moments:D. Its compressing air being fed by the 475 so it should have more consistent/regulated flow compared to if it was a single so characteristics are different.
From what I saw in the my testing I don't recommend installing a batmowheel on one of my ported/polished turbos; it didn't have the gains or characteristics the others had and all the barking I got it scared the crap out of me, haha.

Nope, yours isn't balanced James. And it scares the crap out of me as well with the power you're at!! You were also nice enough to be my ginnie pig for one of the firsts I built!!:hello::roflmao:
When life slows down enough for you swap wheels like we talked about, I think you'll like the results!!!:woott: But with the hot summers in AZ, new off road tow project, baby on the way, etc. Time is a premium!! My offer still stands, buy me a ticket from redneck airlines(southwest) and I get you hooked up so I can see how it does!!:woott:

Sorry for any mudding up your thread Matt and any confusion I've caused others.

well pressure ratios and drive pressure all look great so im not too worried! :D. For some reason i think the opposite will be true for the batmowheel in a twin setup. i have nothing to back it, just a gut feeling. or maybe its the "i really dont wanna f***ing change the damn thing out" feeling :roflmao:. the plane ticket has crossed my mind many a time lol

Thats what counts then!! If its not broke, don't fix it. I'm working on twins so hopefully I'll be able to do some testing!!:woott:
I completely understand that, I've done it so many times its really easy on my pickup. They're other things in life that come up that are more important so no worries.
Wait till its winter time, I'll melt or burst into flames in the hot AZ heat!!!:thumb:

Well guys I have it apart.
Ihi is junk. 475 looks good and cooler did not have much in it.
But the shim between the center section and ex housing had a section missing.
I have a spare turbo but it's missing that copper shim too.
where can I get that copper shim or can I use the one I took out even thou is missing a 2 inch section?
is it just a shim or is it a seal too?
thank you

Ouch!!
I've not found any place that makes/sells those copper shims. Just use some copper anti seize, you shouldn't have any issues.
You could take the two you have and make one, holding them together with copper anti seize. Not ideal but gives you some options.

I would think it would need to be real thin. Not sure I have the capability. Lol
Yes it came apart hard.
I'm installing my old turbo and ppe log headers and up pipes and I might buy a banks intercooler.
Problem I'm having is I want a intercooler local. I don't have time for shipping.
