I strap from the frame on rear and tow hooks on front. I also strap halfway up the frame with another 2. I use 6 straps on my single cab.

Cat taught me well. Ideally you want 60% pulling back and 40% forward. I chained down a 390D excavator with somthing like 40 binders

Whenever I haul a tractor and other farm equipment I tend to put 3 binders forward two back just because in my head I picture the tractor rolling off the back of the trailer if something goes south HAA

Have a lot more momentum when stopping than compared to accelerating

The majority of the weight should be on the axles not the tongue...

You are completely correct. I think he may have meant you should have more ahead of the axles than behind them.
