I strap from the frame on rear and tow hooks on front. I also strap halfway up the frame with another 2. I use 6 straps on my single cab.

Strap from the frame keeps truck from moving. Strap from axle keeps straps from moving some but truck body is allowed to move. I don't want anything moving.

Nah. Just don't like loads moving on a trailer. :D

Haha, I have some extra straps if you want more. Should have used your rr :)

Definitely better safe than sorry. The guy that used to haul my excavators around never strapped anything down.

Cat taught me well. Ideally you want 60% pulling back and 40% forward. I chained down a 390D excavator with somthing like 40 binders

Did they ever explain why 60back 40/frt?

Whenever I haul a tractor and other farm equipment I tend to put 3 binders forward two back just because in my head I picture the tractor rolling off the back of the trailer if something goes south HAA

Haha yeah I'm curious. I usually use the front of the trailer as a stop and pull it into that. I don't like when things move.

I very often get told what I'm doing is excessive. But I've never lost anything!

I always assume I'm going to get into a head-on collision when I'm towing. Usually two to three chains cinched in the back, roll forward till tight, leave in neutral, then cinch down the front with chains and boomers through the lower control arms. Put in park and set brake. That way hopefully I don't have a truck coming through my back window if I do end up in a head-on or an emergency braking situation.
