You can drop the tank or pop the bed off. I will pull the bed off as I have a hoist in the shop. I would much rather go with a sump in my tank then to put the draw straw in. The Air Dog II does not need a draw straw if I remember correctly

Fwiw my A.D. is hooked up to the factory pickup and I see 11 psi on my gauge. But my gauge is temporarily hooked to the pump. I need to move it up to the filter housing and get a better idea of the pressur there. And then if need be I'll put in a sump or draw straw.

So more like 260-270 at the wheels stock..?

J

240-250 is more common. Id go with an S&B intake. Reasonably priced, draws air from underneath, too.

If you want 500rwhp, dump the Hypertech and go buy EFILive from one of the vendors here, and have them set you up with a DSP 5 switch/tunes. Then you can have the stock tune, tow tune and 500hp racetune.

Who's building your trans to handle the 500rwhp?

might want to check that. we just installed my drawstraw last week, and at over 1/4 tank it was spitting ans sputtering and pumping a lot of foam in the bucket. after install a solid full line of fuel:D

Mine has been fine. But since I don't use my PU for work anymore I think I'm gonna put a sump in.

Slightly off topic, but does anyone know what a stock LBZ will put out for numbers?

I had mine on a dyno with Trippins tow tune and nothing else besides a Banks cat back exhaust and the truck put down 343hp and 601 tq pretty consistantly with a spike of 351 hp and 641 tq.

Just trying to see the difference with the little mods I had.

My 03' with just a K&N drop in and exhaust did 240.67 HP & 404.28 TQ

Same truck with just the Hyper Tech added, did 318.04 HP & 506.11 TQ.
This was done on Dynojet.

I wasn't very impressed with the Hyper. Its a clean safe tuner.
Go with the EFI or PPE and a tranny from Mike.

lol. beat it hard enough, it'll eventually hate the 1-2, 2-3 and 3-4 shifts as well. That 135 tune killed my last trans.... :D ....as did the 160, 190 and 215....

Nice thread... So is it safe to say most trucks like ours loose around 50-60 hp from the fly wheel to the rear Tires ?
