you ever think its the track and has nothing to do with the tires ?

gmduramax(Anthony) has cut 1.69 60's on stock wheels and tires but never better... Of course track prep is key in anything hooking..??? Sacramento Raceway has good track prep im not sure the point your trying to make? Drag Radials on a shit track won't hook well. The 275/60/16 Proxes are light and small

I have never tried Toyo Proxies, but I know IdahoRob said he cut just as good or better 60' times with a set of E rated Michelins.

i was almost .15-.2 faster 60ft than every guy on street tires last time out on a slippery track even toyo equipped trucks , 4 runs all under 1.7 . plus anthony is 500lbs heavier than your truck .

Proxes are not really the best tire. Some people have good luck but alot dont. Sacramento is an extremely fast track

Slick.....Look around in the drag racing and chassis areas. Trent has asked an incredible number of questions and done extensive testing and research on his setup, and he's proven many of his ideas work.

I'm sure I've read most of it Tom. I'm well aware he's been working on his setup for a while.

FWIW Chris and I have cut 1.6 60's on every tire we've had on our trucks and at every track we've been to (Rockingham, New Bern, Kinston, Jacksonville, Farmington.....) with the exception of Pageland when it was about 30* out. He has clamps, I have bars. The best I got out of the cheaters was 1.59 compared to the 1.66 I was getting on bald BFG ATs.

I agree with Tom and think you should run it as is before you start throwing money at a problem that may already be fixed. On ATs I used to run 28-30 in the rear and 37-38 in the front. Crank the traction bars to preload the suspension.

here is my problem with these subjects , there is a unkown part of this equation on our trucks and 60ft times ! And i will tell you why i think this , you cant take the same parts put it on 10 trucks across the country and get the same results. still trying to figure out why though ?

the only 2 variables i can think of is driver and track variables . because i have ran on the parts that i was told by the masses would work and should be worth X time , and they werent . just think we need to not get to close minded to a posters questions and take into consideration that its not so cut and dry .

I am the furthest thing from a expert , just a guy who has tried to get his truck running faster , and have learned a fair amount in the proscess . and what has worked well on my truck may not work on some one elses , but i can say me and Jeff ( stingpuller) have pretty close setups and it has woked well on both of our trucks .

Those are 2 very important ones which I agree with. Since Pat and I have shared vehicles over the years. Some days he will be quicker and some days I will. I was suspose to run the first 10 in Casper, but for the life of me I couldn't 60ft to save my a$$. I finally threw him the keys and told him to :grd:

Wendy last time we went to Sac I was cutting 1.6x's all day with both Casper's M & H's and my toyo's. So it kinda proves on my truck at least if the track is prep'd well it doesn't make much difference. Thanks again to Chris for changing my tires

I agree Trent. Now that I'll have the power to overcome my traction I will be going further with suspension setup as well. The reason I posted is that I'm only a few hours from 02big, and Rockingham is one of the closest tracks to him. That could rule out the track for him. I think your biggest problem was the open diff originally, and I think since 02big already found a boost leak that was holding him back he should test it out again before throwing more money at a problem that may already be solved.

im going to run it as it was before because right now im still debating if i want to lift it or what i want to do next. i know the boost leak was a big problem, it definatly runs way better now but i was just trying to see what else i could do for 60's. thats all. im probably going to lift it 4inches and put rx9000's on it so i can drag race with the stock wheels but be able to pull it with my rockstars, and never have to worry about the torsion bars. oh and racing got cancelled tonight, the lazy asses at zmax didnt get the track cleaned up from an event 2 weeks ago so now i have to wait till the 10th of june.

Dustin, I agree with you except for one thing....IIRC you stated in another thread that you launch in 2nd gear. That may be the key right there to good 60s. But damn, is it a risk.....I didnt have the conjones to try it last time at Stanton.

Why the heck are we arguing about this anyways? Most people agree that "one tune doesnt fit all trucks", so why would it be any different with chassis setups?

Chassis setup will be a lot more similar than a tune, IMO, esp. if its the same cab configuration.

Most everyone still has the stock factory suspension, so there aren't nearly as many variables as an engine tune.(injectors, turbo, pumps, ect.)
