its been a while but i just realized last night that my wife had recorded the strip from last time on her camera. i went back through and watched like 4 runs. the best i had that night was 12.45 @ 110.47 which she didnt get but i was watching and when i was about to cross the line she would zoom in on the clock and all most of my runs were 110+ . i even went 12.76@110. on my fastest run my 60' was 1.8x and 1/8 was 8.0. so its movin on the big end but 1/8 sux. wtf! im going back this week and have fixed both boost leaks and got my rp under control better. hoping for low 12's.

60 ft is huge in the 1/8 mile . rail pressure also , my truck holds more rail after 50 mph or so( third gear and up ) , like 1000 psi more . i have heard this is pretty normal . just make shure its not dropping to low or it will make you run slower .

two questions:

1) what RPM are you leaving at?
2) Are you having issues with wheelspin or wheel hop?

Observations:
Those KMCs and 20" tires arent helping you at all. Heavy SOBs that take more power to get rolling than to KEEP rolling. That will affect your 60's and first part of the run moreso than the overall 1/4.
Those Bilsteins arent the best shock to have on the front for racing. Great for regular driving, though.

Also, who does your tuning? Could be in the tune. Frankly, 12.45 with two boost leaks and a heavy truck is nothing to sneeze at. MPH is 12.20 range, so there's possibilities.

 No shit?

I dont think that tune was setup for twins, it was set up for my stock turbo. Might be a VERY good idea to call Nick and see if he can tweak it, as not every truck is the same...

for LB7 twins there is no diff tuning needed other than some MAF tables and little things . i tweeked it a bit for him a while back after his 12.48 run . the tune you are both running has the same pulse width/timming i run tables look diff from tuning methods but peak #s are close .

Hmmm..no kidding? Didnt know that.

Id look at unsprung weight...would be interesting to see what a set of PY0's and lighter tires would do.
Then general weight reduction of the truck.
Id also look at starting procedures (RPM, boost, etc). I know that even 100rpm +/- makes a big diff on the start.

Lastly, Id look at the weather. Since starting to use that D/A calculator, Ive been amazed at the affects of different air quality on a 1/4 run. Try to get to the track on a low humidity/mild temp day.

you will need to get your 1/8 mile down to 7.7 or so for a 12.0, 7.5 for high 11's . i ran a 7.7 on my 20's with a 1.8 60ft .

as far as the tuning, rod was the one that told me the tunes arent much different. i think i run a smoother timing table then you but thats about it. also i dont run maf at all.

What do you mean you don't run a maf? You mean the table is maxxed out, or you don't even run the sensor?

the table is maxed i think. i dont really know i just know travis told me what to change to make it like his and i know he doesnt even have one on the truck. when i tryed running mine it would act weird down low i think because its right there at the big charger and it sucks the oil off the filter on the maf and screws with the readings? i could be completly wrong.

I agree but I also think there is something to be said about the stock suspension handling a fast 60 ft. I know i know everyone might get mad but alot of the trucks that are running REALLY fast arent hitting much under 1.65's (this is talking everything from stock charger to big twins). I think that few people are really getting it right with tire pressure and suspension as far as being dialed in, and think the rest of people who are actually getting a hard lunch are getting a ton of wheelspin.

Jordan, if anyone can talk about suspension mods, its Trent. He's researched it moreso than anyone.

Seriously Strokin, Id give Nick a call. There has to be a variable in there that you havent thought of, and I dont know enough to tell what it could possibly be.

ive talked to nick until i think he is tired of hearing from me:rofl: hes changed a few things but its pretty much the same. im going to defiantly remove more weight this thursday at the strip and i also fixed the 2 boost leaks i had. it runs 200+ degrees cooler egts now so ill see where im at. it seems like its running strong, if i could get a good driver i might get some good 60ft.
im thinking about trying to get some rx9000's this week but im also thinking about lifting it so i dont know if i want to buy shocks and then turn right around have to sell them soon.

Hmm..Ive talked to Nick twice since I bought the tune. Strange how that goes.

Look, before you do anything, run the truck exactly as you did but with the leaks fixed FIRST. Who knows how much boost you were losing. Second....look into lighter tires...those 285 BFGs are heavy buggers, even worn out. Third, lose truck weight. You can do that at the track.

If you end up buying the Ranchos, then decide to sell them...look me up. Thats one thing I havent done yet.

I think on street tires this does hold true ,

but once on a good slick with a proper suspension ( as proper as can be without $$ ) i dont think traction is the problem . i think 1.5*'s are obtainable and think i will get there on a diff track than my own . but any faster will require more power than most of us have ( non 10 sec trucks ). my 1.64 was no tire slip that could be heard , no front end lift ,and on the converter almost as much as i could be ( 2450 rpm 22 psi boost ) no rear end squat and butter smooth but as i said this was on a cold slippery tack on new slicks . we will see what friday brings . but stingpuller ( jeff ) just hit 1.49 60 ft wich is one of the better sixties i have seen . so that is why i fugure 1.5*'s are the best we can get @ lower power levels .

yeah as far as the tires go, i was going to bu a set of proxes a guy around here has 275/60r16 but i saw your post about how your 60's were like 1.7x, which is good but i figured if im going to spend money on tires just for the strip i think im going to save my money and get some drag radials or something like trent. im going to see if anyone has any of the ranchos in stock around today.
