Hey guys I've finally had it with my axle feeling like it's going to fall off my truck and am going to build me some bars. I'm curious if you guys that have used the tractor top links have problems with them rattling or being noisey? I like the price of using those but I absolutely hate rattles and clunks! So I'm wondering if it's worth it to spend the cash now and get good stuff that will stay quiet or if the top link deals are fine? Also any tips would be appreciated! thanks

I've also considered making my own out of those too. They work great for four link bars on mud trucks :thumb:

they also arnt daily driven on the street nor would they feel the little clunk you will get when they wear some due to their agricultural tires.

I wouldnt never run those tractor heims. they will be noisy and causing clunking down the road. they might last for a while but not long. I dont even like running high end heims on traction bars as i feel they dont last long enough but i tend to buy/overbuild things for longevity and strenght. other people swear by them and say they have no issues. Id rather use a johhny joint on one end and a poly/derlin busing at the other as its rebuildable for cheap, quite, carry more surface area to dispurse load, and can be had in large sizes for a decent price

this site has everything you need
http://www.ballisticfabrication.com/

Lol that place is one of the worst places to get what you need. they are two hours away from me and it took three months each time on two separate orders with different parts to finally get to me. I about had steve (sschmi5519) go in there one day and demand for the parts (some of them were for him). Pirate4x4 has tons of post with issues with them and Priate even pulled their vendor status from all the problems and uncorrected issues. they have actually gone under "extensive inventory re-organization and service" since Pirate dropped them yet their website ahs not been updated to concure with it. Only place i like that about has all the stuff ballistic has is ruffstuff.com. So i heed warning to those who order from ballistic.

i used tractor links on mine been on there for a couple years no noise or clunks anywhere...

With good quality links (no tractor supply cheapies) and well made brackets I don't see why they would be loud. I will be going that route too eventually, if you think the autos wheel hop bad imagine what a zf6 is like  there Maybe slightly more road noise since there's no rubber isolator. but between the exhaust sound and Hum of my tires I'd never notice it

Hmm :thumb: maybe it was just a bad batch I saw. Was in the local store looking at them and a couple already had loose ends.

I run tractor end links and HATE them with every part of my being!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They are so loud and rattle and I feel every bump in the road. I will be redoing mine when the truck is back on the road. I will be going to heims and adding urethane bushings.

I made a U joint plate and mounted them there. I wonder if length and angle have alot to do with noise and vibration/ clunk noise? Since my bars are two and a half by two and a half square tube 1/4 inch wall i use to take a big cresent wrench and 4lb beater and tighten them up. I havent in a few years.

We have a nice set of adjustables that we are making, may have $250 (ill have to figure the exact cost) in each set without powdercoating using ballisitic brackets and 2" .25" wall DOM tubing and poly bushings. One end will be threaded.

62" long and will weigh 34lbs per side including all hardware

I'll take pics and do a write up when I get time to finish them, which hopefully is next week!
