Speaking of, I DO NOT recommend porting your heads. I had SoCal stage 1 ported heads, and had 2 sets fail and hydrolock my motor. By the time you get your heads ported, it is within spitting distance of the Wagler castings, which flow better and don't leak constantly.
Dang it now, I just bought an engine with SC ported heads last week.... :rofl:
I didn't port them on the marine 900's upon advice from those who have ran ported at high power. Bone stock ports, just better springs, keepers, and rail bolts.
Porting is 30% skill and 70% luck that casting your doing is identical to the one you cut on the band saw to gauge runner wall thickness.
