Alright I'm runnin in to some trouble ok my trucks sittin on 35 inch mid grapplers with 20x11 fuel krank rims with a -46 offset and a 6 inch rough country lift with rare parts tierods and cognito pittman and idler arm braces but besides that point last weekend goin 60 mph down a high way I had my front driver wheel snap off and it was a brand new moog wheel bearing I torqued axle nut and everything when installed but it complete split the bearing in two my rotor and caliber ripped off my truck and stayed with the wheel and my knuckle was just dragging on the lower ball joint stud so I put a new cv shaft and wheel bearing and brake lines and what not so a week later the right side snaps off the exact same thing just different side now wtf is goin on??? R my wheel to offset to handle the weight on the bearing or what cause there's tons of guys out there runnin the same build. Or even 12 inch wide rims with even more offset then me I just need some thoughts and what I should do if I should do a sas or just need new rims i some help man tired of this non sense ImageUploadedByTapatalk1421954846.608225.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1421954868.441458.jpg

Are both sides Moog? Timken makes the OEM bearing and it is the best quality wheel bearing. I put them on My truck when I had it long traveled in the front and it took abuse like no other. I know plenty of guys with a more aggressive offset and load on there wheel bearings then you do. Replace with Timken (from the DMAXSTORE to get lifetime warranty) and you should be good :thumb:

I think, you sir, have a case of really shitty luck.

Hard to tell but it almost looks like the inside froze and the wheel spun off. Like when you over torque a screw and break it off.

But again, buy Timken bearings.

I would contact Moog and see what they have to say about it. I'm sure they will try to blame you in some fashion but even if you over torque the nut (within reason) I can't see this happening.

Can you spin the broken halves of the bearing?

Damn
2 potentially catastrophic incidents, wow!

Glad you're okay!
Good luck!

Hey, arent you supposed to tq the spindle nut to spec and then back it off 90* or something?

I cant remember, its been 3yrs since i did a wheel bearing...i used timken
