headgaskets ordered

finally got my headgaskets ordered. got the lly kit from merchant along with a Diamond eye downpipe, afe turbo mouthpiece and egr blocker plate. already have a ppe shim kit to install and gonna do a pcv reroute too. startin to tear it all apart the end of the week.

Merchants kits are perfect use them alot! Eric is top notch with his products there isn't a single thing he don't think about for headgasket r&r! An have good experience be really clean an just my 2 cents do a Eyre delete an make sure to have the heads checked out an be really clean! Goodluck :thumb:

gettin the heads plained while there off for sure. and just gonna take my time and make sure it done 110%. and do you mean egr delete or wut by eyre delete?

Like a new pipe from the intercooler to the y-bridge an taking the whole egr system out an a lb7 up-pipe then you'll have better airflow an no egr crap under the hood

mine are shot. i wish i didnt have to do them. and i would love to do a complete egr delete but the funds arent available at the moment.

egr delete on lly is pretty easy, get a lb7 federal y bridge and then just weld the pass side up pipe where egr goes . iirc Paint94979 has the y bridge for sale

I'm 30 minutes from Bowling Green south. wonder how long it'll take? I think Dmitri is planning on doing it while he's here so minimal idle time would be best..

Herrington Machine he does all the pull trucks and drag cars around here he is good with everything gas or diesel

Why is it important for the machine shop to have done Duramax stuff before to check heads? I would think one would be more concerned with the quality of the machine work that comes out of the shop, not the exact brand of engine. Wrong?

Shaw does some good work as well but from a performance stand point Herrington has it figured out, Shaw and son is trying to copy a set of stage 2 from so cal I havnt heard anymore on that yet though

My guy hadn't done them before either but he's done several now for me and has turned out good work.
