I would think any reputable machine shop could bring a set of heads back to stock specs . Now altering like porting would be a different story . Iirc even adding spring should be pretty basic as most seem to be just plug and play

I've got a guy here who does mine,, you could ship them too but it'll cost more then the smarty ;) lol
Yea I still haven't located that bill. Could be under my beer in this slick koozie. I may have to take me another drink and take a second look :thumb:

Herrington Machine he does all the pull trucks and drag cars around here he is good with everything gas or diesel

I think that's where the 97 12 valve I sold the injectors for went to be tuned. I did injectors and was working on a turbo deal when the guy went to jail
The guys dad thought it was all jacked up, Hell I just wasn't done yet :joker:

I just bought an upper gasket kit for my lbz from Henry, I didn't pay close to $1053 and I got studs.

A lot of "head gasket kits" don't come with exhaust manifold or up-pipe gaskets.

How did you know what to order for head gaskets? Have you got the heads off already?

No sense buying stuff you don't need. Doubtful you will need exhaust manifold gaskets but none the less I still spent less than the 950 mark that you posted. I didn't get a downpipe though.

its 586 bucks for the full headgasket kit that includes stock bolts, and its 1053 with arps.

I just saying that you bought other stuff that you can swap in a couple hours

How much was your bill? Mp dp and plate ?

It's a lot more work to put studs in than install a plate and stuff

AJ there are tabs on the gasket that stick out on each head gasket

These markings indicate the grade of the gasket:)

You do if you want to put back the same grade as what came on it.

Aj most the guys want Grade C to be safe since there in stock most the time. And if you look even Erics kits are all Grade C HG's in the kits. On Josh's he wanted only what he needed I tried selling him the overhaul kit and having him sell you all the extra gaskets for a motor built later to have laying around to use. Hell its easier selling a overhaul kit and 2 Hg's and a set of ARP head studs and calling it a day 1,342 shipped for the LBZ 1,370 for the LLY and the LB7 is 1,407 shipped in the US only

also heres the specs Simon was talking about.

i dont think that i really need studs anyway. with the c grade gaskets i think i should be fine. i wont be doing twins or anything else to my truck for long time so i think this should be fine. and the only reason i got the exhaust manifold gaskets is cause my manifolds are really rusted and i dont think they gonna come of easy so id rather have them then wreck the stock ones and then be set back even more.

Yes you are correct. Those tabs also tell you whether its a left or right side gasket. I shouldn't have said you must have the heads off to determine what gaskets you need, as you can see the the driver side gasket with out taking anything off other then the driver side fender liner. Or if you wanted to use a mirror from the top. However the passenger side gasket is pretty well covered by the passenger side accessory bracket on the engine.

I usually don't worry what gasket they have until I have the heads off as I keep a set of each grade in stock.:)
