It would hurt the ceramic coated housing guy...I can hold my hand on my secondary exhaust housing for quite a while...even after driving for hours on end.
I use the exact same ceramic fiber at work that Levi uises to make his blankets....it's good stuff and not cheap by anybody's standards.

Looks like the same stuff that they sometimes use in powerplants. If it is it works great. I grabbed a 4' wide by 120' long roll of the cloth and a box of fiber. Now I just need someone that can make something out of it:rofl:
Not stealing. It was going in the trash.
In field construction we rarely stock things. Most jobs are time and material. Need a little peice for work...order a box and biff the rest....need more for a different work order number then order another box:happy2:But in all seriousness, they are that stuff on main steam lines that are 1005 degrees for months straight and just a few inches will keep the heat in and allow you to hold your hand on it.
