so cal
i would say 6 out of 8 pistons are good, but in this case the block has to be bored so that really does not help even if we could round up two more:(

unlesss you found a stock block u could do a quick hone by 2 pistons and use the other 6 not ideal but it would work

So, the lesson here to everyone is, if you have bad headgaskets, fix them before it gets worse. We are looking at $5000 for repairs now, just because we neglected to repair the gaskets, so the outcome for running bad head gaskets for 1 1/2 years is basically a blown motor. Dmitri said that the only thing worse than this would be if we actually blew the motor and didn't have a core.

That is bad news Drew very sorry to hear this, but it obviously wasn't the best idea to drive the truck with the blown head gasket obviously:D. But look on the bright side once its done it will be done right:D

I have started to see a trend with engines that are using water meth injection, where the back of the intake valves are pitted due to water damage. :(

We are really looking for a long block LB7, but it looks like we'll be sticking with our current engine and building it, but even so, if you see any good deals post em up.

Well its on hold right now, the heads are done and they're at guy's place, so we just need to pick them up, and we are deciding if we want to do a mild build or not.

Ok so we got a call from dmitri, the guy who is gonna put it back together, he's coming out in mid march. So we will probably get the heads from guy and put it back together, because this time around we really can't afford full build.

Well one thing leads to another and if we were gonna do rods, that would be at least another $1000 for the labor, and we can't afford that, and if we did do that, it wouldn't be on the road for a long time.
