What say you ? Can a DMax do this on these mods ?

08 6.4 Super Duty. Spartan tune, DPF delete, intake...nothing else.

There's another thread...but CC truck with that same tune and a single .093 hit of nitrous went 12.1 @ 110 last night.

That's gotta be right at 700 to the ground....and it finally did hurt the trans. It's been multiple passes at the track though.....a bunch actually. I don't know ANY other trans that will take even 1 or 2 passes at ~700 hp without eating itself.

Found this on The DP
Ok Aaron from Rudy's diesel performance 08 6.4 crew cab shortbed f-250 with spartan 310 tune, .93 jet, suncoast tq converter, intake and exhaust went 12.1 @ 110mph with a 1.69 60 foot.

also Dale Freeman's 08 6.4 did 592.6 hp and 1196.6 tq on the 310 beta tune intake and dpf delete without the cat delete. this is the link to one of his other graphs but doesn't show the 1196 tq run. http://www.thedieselgarage.com/forum...t=78528&page=2

There is another truck that ran a best of 8.088 @ 83.99 mph with a 1.74 60ft in reg cab 6.4 with the 275 tune, intake and exhaust. That should be well into the 12's on tune and fuel only.

I will give you guys the update on matts reg cab when he goes to the track again it should be well into the 11's if an 8400 pound crew cab can go 12.1.

So it buys you 10 or so passes at the track? If your going to have to build it what does it matter whether its before you make one pass or after 10 passes? If you wanna play, you gotta pay, imo nothing has been accomplished by this.

And sorry the 12.1 @110 on a .093 shot does not impress me at all. 3 years ago i ran a 12.1@112 on a .65 shot with a ppe hot+2 at 7300lbs.

I dunno. Just guessing on how much a .093 jet helps, as I dont know anything about nitrous (and dont care to), but wouldnt that truck still run a 12.7 or 12.8 without N2O? For being ~1000lbs heavier than a comparable Dmax, thats still pretty darn impressive. Thats a ~.4/.5 second weight penalty that you cant remove...

While we won't put down those dyno numbers we will stomp them at the track every time. A duramax of every engine model has gone 12.50 or faster with a lift pump, trans, tuning, and exhaust. With nitrous I'm pretty sure all of them have been in the 11s. You can argue that it wasn't on stock trans but it's because most of us are smart enough to build it before it breaks.

Congrats to Ford on finally having an engine that can put down some real power - too bad they aren't going to stick with it.

No, .093 is a big shot, i highly doubt it would run a 12.7 or 12.8 without any N20

None the less im glad the ford owners are happy, and yes its impressive, but their about 3 years too late, 600hp and 12's isnt huge news anymore, not worth dethroning anything atleast.

There has been a 8200# crew cab 6.4 that ran in the 12's on fuel only already. Intake, tuner and exhaust is it. Imagine that in a 6600# race trim truck as most of the faster dmax guys are weighing in around that weight. It's a fact they have a good running engine and as far as holding together at the power levels they are making how many stock dmax motors or how long do they stay together at the same power levels? It was my buddy that ran a 8.088 @ 83.99 mph friday night with a 275 spartan tune.

Cummins would argue the same thing about the duramax though. They've been makiong big power before the duramax showed up.....

Like Pat said, nice to see Ford has a motor that can now be competitive in the diesel scene.

It is huge news in Fordland. They've been the "Chicago Cubs" of the diesel world for a long time now and finally have something to cheer about. Lots of pent-up emotion about it over in that brand.

A .093 jet will normally take a full second off the ET.

Yes, that is impressive that Ford is now a serious contender. It should make things more interesting.

Thanks guys. I have no idea how much an xxx% shot of nitrous helps. A second is quite a bit.

Still, when you factor in the added weight of a Ford that you cant do anything about, a 13.1 isnt all that bad. It would compare favorably with any one of us running 12.60s in a stock turbo Dmax.

I had a feeling that once Spartan got enough experience with the 6.4, that times (and power numbers) like that would be possible.
