Me! Ive worked a miserable job in a dog store the last year. Today they let me go because I wasnt available to work all days of the week (so they say) but what really happened is they put an ad on craigslist and a ton of people who are ok with being paid 6.75 showed up.

Apply anyway, we had a part time employee we laid off and he still got approved for un-employment. They didn't seem to care that he only worked 10-20 hours a week.

Ya just apply for your unemployment, your former employer may deny you, but if they do you can fight it. Thats what I had to do because I was laid off but my company told the unemployment office that I was "unwilling to work." So I wrote a letter of my side of the story and everything was cool.

Sorry hear the bad news Jordan. stuff like this doesnt help at all . kinda like when walmart came in to the area 10+ yrs ago , we had 3 stores close and all the $20/hr jobs turned into less than $10

Thanks for the support guys Ill be ok ive got this months truck payment covered and luckily I just sold a bunch of stuff off my truck so worse comes to worse I can use that dinero.

Yup, if unemployment office denys your claim, just follow the procedure they say to protest it. Seldom do they side with the employer. But it will hold up your check a couple weeks.

what really sucks is the person that replaces you probably will be a slacker that shows up late, calls in sick on Fri and Monday, etc
then they'll replace and retrain a few more people...

I am pretty sure they pay minimum wage and I think are only part time to start. All the higher dollar jobs require experience. Casino's are actually a nice place to work, not super filthy since they are all paired with the Hotel's and no smoking were food is served in Nevada.
