Where the best place to buy the Borg SX3 series turbos? I'm not in the market right now, but as soon as I find a new daily driver, I can start work on the Cummins again. I was thinking a s475 sX3 with a .90 a/r and then just run an external wastegate.

Well i was going to run a 42x, but decided to go bigger. I just dont think it can flow the air to compete well in the 2.8 class around here. I wanted to run a 45x, but there hard to find right now, i found one on ebay and i think hes over priced. Anybody ran a s483? Think it can be lit as a single? What about s480 compared to the 42x? I know the s480 is bigger, but i can get a decent deal on another 42x, im thinking the s480 still flows a lot more than the 42x by the maps ive seen.

I would go S480 before the 42x. I have a 2.8 thats based on a S480 with an 87mm turbine. spools very well for its size. Chris from ED told me they have seen over 1300hp on a built 12v with the billet 83mm comp wheel. I also like the cost and tuning options availible with the B/W chargers.

Edit: I dont think you would have trouble spooling the 83 as a single as long as it wasn't the T6 96mm turbine. If I had the time and money I would like to try my exact same setup with the 96mm turbine. I just dont know if I would be able to stay on top it on the big end of the track. I hear it takes 4800-5200rpm for a 12 valve to keep one lit on a tight track....

Dustin from Diesel Addiction has been driving his truck for about a month now with the 480 and i want to say 87 exhaust wheel. says its pretty good not much worse then his 475. try out the 483 you would always sell it if you didnt like it and im sure someone would buy it for a twin...
