does the 4202 spool noticeably slower than a 4202R

how does it compare spoolwise with a 4094R

The difference between the 4202 and the 4202R is not much. I personally think ballbearings are overated spool up wise.

I am not a fan of the 4094. It is laggy no matter what you do. I actually thing the 4294 spools better.

IMO the only difference between a journal and ball bearing is the price. Having said that i haven't run a ball bearing. My engine build budget was getting slim when i was getting a turbo so i got the cheapest 4202 out there. Was planning on getting a BB.

The 4202 doesn't have incredibly high drive pressure. Mine is around 46:73 boost to drive pressure.

FWIW, my S472 is almost 1:1 boost to drive pressure.

If you were on dual C's it would be more , it isnt too hard to keep drive pressure in check with most decent sized turbo's until you start pushing them up in there map and running big power/ making big boost Just an FYI .

Nick if the price is the same between the two turbo's which it sounds like it is then i would choose the GT4202,Most choose Borg over Garrett because of cost , not because we think they are better .
