I am thinking about getting a Grizzly 550 or 700. I am leaning towards the 700. I will use it for hunting, and for plowing snow off my to long of a drive way. Does anybody on here have the Grizzly 700? If so, how do you like? Any problems? What about the 550?

I don't have one but I have a buddy that does. All I can say is it will take alot of abuse and keep on ticking. When I say abuse I mean flipping it several different times and flip it over and ride it home.

Buddy of mine has one, said he loves it, plenty of power and i think he has the power steering too. Says the stock tires are not that great though. He ended up lifting his 6 inches and started doing mud bogs with it.

i have heard a lot of problems with the automatic transmission on the griz 700 and power steering problems on the ones that have it.. i personally have a prarie 650 with just over 4000 HARD miles on it and love it. I have burn up two belts in the mud but other than that, not a single issue

I have the Kawasaki 700. TONS of power. If you have the means, go with the 700. There's no substitute for Cubic Inches.... uhhh.... CC's. :D

How about the Arctic Cat ThunderCat 1000? I never been around one but I have older cat wheelers I beat the FOK out of and have been good. Anyone else have one? I'vev been looking at the Cat 1000 for a while. I have a 06 grizz 660 thats been a fairly good wheeler quite a bit different from the new ones my initial opinion is they are built light so don't roll it to hard :D

Yeah, those tires didn't look that meaty. I will probably throw some skit plates on for hunting. It can get real bad back in these mountains.

I would almost look into a wheeler that has the semi manual transmission, if they even make one like that anymore. Just with plowing snow, putting all that load on the engine and a slow speed I would think it would burn up belts or clutches more often. I may be wrong though. Used to plow snow when I lived back in MN with a little 300 4x4 kawasaki and it was nice to pick your own gear.

I can say I have a 700. Don't waste your time with the 550, the only difference between the two is the cc's and price point is minimal. I ride with four other 700s, one 660, two outlander 650, Kawi 750i and a sportsman 800. Only quad to always come back under their own power are the Yammys. Mine has been under water twice and once I dried out the motor it's still as strong as new. Grizzly 700 is the most well rounded machine imo.

Awesome information guys! I found a new 09 700. I am getting ready to go take a look at it. Great price, end of the month, and an older model should help them come down on the price.

I got an older Grizzly 600 (01) Its only got 460 miles on it since new but its all fairly hard miles, plowing the driveway and skidding/carrying whitetail out of the woods. Never had one issue with it yet. On a more relavent note my buddy just bought the 700 and that thing is nasty for a 4X4:eek: things got twice the nut my older 600 has.. No way would I buy anything but the biggest displacement motor available (700)... :thumb:
