Greasable front end parts, ujoints were designed in era when oil changes were every 3-4000 miles and we greased them at that time (my 1982 has 21 zerks I could do it blindfolded). With the advent of synthetics and oil changes extended to 7500+ miles ya think we're missing greasing the parts at 3-4000 miles..?

i change my oil twice a year and grease once a year but at the rate my truck gets driven, its only about 6-7k a year. I use CAT Gold grease (have about 10 tubes left and cant get it anymore). its a sticky, nasty grease but it stays where it should and keeps things alive. my right LCA ball joint has 202k miles on it and just as tight as the new left side one i put on 10k ago.

TX of course
I use a high moly grease that I got from work years ago. Maybe greased it every 30k, because it never needed any. At 170k my ball joints are a little loose, but everything else is still tight.

I've always used Schaeffer's 221 moly black, grease every 10k. At 216k I've never replaced any front end parts. Steering isn't like new, but it doesn't wander, and ball joints are tight.

I grease the front end every 10K miles when I do my oil and filter changes. Just easier for me to do it all at once. Here lately 10K miles is about every 18 months.

Man Ferm, I can not go that long with this Washington weather! I grease mine every 3-5k and sometimes that isn't even enough...I do put my rig thru the wringer tho, between taking it off road and flexing out the joints and 75+mph freeway speeds with the standing water we get on our highways and byways, even the tackiest of greases doesn't seem to hold up for too long...the poly bushings on the Cognito UCA's are usually the first to sound off and it really makes the truck feel/sound like a POS when they do, lol
