Bought a new(to me) truck, 03 lb7 with ZF6 for farm use and hauling the gooseneck around (we'll see how long it lasts before i build it :roflmao: )

Anyway, truck was GSA (Gov't) owned by Military used to haul trailers between White Sand and Fort Bliss in Texas/New Mexico.

Called their maint. agency and they said truck clears all accident checks, had some minor paint chips fixed, front end joints/ends are all new, etc. Only thing odd about the truck is the Dmax/2500HD emblems are swapped and they swear up and down its never been touched...

Im a little on edge about it as ive never seen it reversed unless a bad bodyshop guy flipped them. (same spacing from door gap on both sides, looks factory really)

Any insight as to why this might be?

Thanks,
Dave

I bet that looks kinda funny  . I guess it's possible for them to have been switched and nobody notice. if I was you I wouldn't be to worried about it, I'd be more concerned about the dual mass flywheel. Especially if it towed all it's life and you're planning to tow a lot with it. It will probably need replaced if it hasn't been already.

South bend treatment will be ordered next week for it, hell might go pick it up direct since im not too far away lol.

Keep reading stock wont take much more than 60-100hp over stock (typical GM lol), figured SB-double and fly.

Hoping i dont get the lb7 injector issues, if i do i'll just swap to LLY heads i suppose.

Ive seen a tahoe that had a "Yukon" badge on the lift gate (and I know for a fact that it came from the factory like that)...so Id say its definitely possible

The dealer around here says he’s seen GMCs come with Chevy 2500 badges on the doors before, seeing the source it came from I don’t believe it 100%. There is a truck in town that has the badges flipped on the door; the owner says the body shop overlooked that minor detail.:violent:
I would say it’s possible the badges came from factory flipped but very unlikely.
That’s my 2 cents

Bought a new truck with 4x4 stickers on it. Made it all the way home before I realized it was 2WD. They took it back and made it right.

Its not a matter of IF but when you will get them, LB7 injectors are the $200 spark plugs of that generation of engine, 70 to 100k average life before replacement (just my exp.)

I have seen the wheel wrong too. We had one truck come through with one gmc taillight and the other was a Chevy taillight.

When my dad bought his first truck (totaled a week later by a drunk driver) the Duramax badge on the drivers door was placed towards the back of the 2500HD, but still above it thpugh. The dealer told us they had never seen that and its supposed to be like that. Needless to say, after we pointed out every other duramax equipted truck on the lot had the emblem toward the front, they ordered and gave us the new emblem. I'd say its possible

I've got a GM wierd one here at the house now. It's an 06 LLY with the ALLISON 6 speed, and the the old style DURAMAX DIESEL badges on teh door. I poppped the hood and double checked that it was the 06 LLY when I seen the door badges.

All the 06 LLY I have seen have the Old style Duramax emblems on them. The new style are on the LBZ, but all 06's have the 6 speed allison.
