I want a picture of the EGT guage buried to 2000 and a little level 10 shot.
Had a friend in the truck on a few passes up the hill . He kept his fingers on the gauge so I couldnt see it . I knew . Done it to many times .
He said now you can go all the way you cant see the gauge . I dont really need to see it . You can smell the vanes in the turbo melting .
I wish I could find some vid of the sand drags . We were blowin by every truck out there except kwick66 with his paddles .
The gauge is straight down between auto and meter on a 1600 gauge and I am only 1/3 way up the hill . At least another 30 seconds at that increasing temp .
Its the last 100yds that kills the truck . Engine temp will hit 260 and trans gauge buried if I kept at it . The egt gauge stops moving but you know its hotter than it says . How hot is the A in auto ...
Last year I set the injector harness on fire from heat transfer just as I crested the hill .
That was fun blowing out the harness like a birthday cake .
The other thing is I need to hit the bottom of the hill at 40 mph . The damn whoops were big on Thankgiving . Last season I broke a hub going to fast at the bottom and got the front wheels off the ground and boom . Exploded the right front hub and gear . If I hit the bottom faster it would go up alot easier.
Thanks for all the replies . I love the sand and cant stop now . It's to much fun . At least it still runs is all that matters right now .
So being a little more responsible with it and turning out before the top payed off .
It still runs .
New Years is coming in a week or so .
Where is the wood to knock on .
I will get a picture next time out of the needle buried for ya .
