I would give them an F if they were in school.

Since they service Duramax motorhomes, and sell a lot of trailers to Duramax owners, I believe this is relevant.

We brought our Duramax Kodiak motorhome into them 3 times (under warranty at first) to fix coach battery charging problems, and while they did charge us, and replace parts, the motorhome is now in worse condition than before we brought it in the first time:

I was very polite the first two and half visits.

On the visit yesterday, they lost my keys and blamed me (they found them at the dealership), and they claimed it was the Inverter (they just replaced it, and it isn't the problem), and then claimed my home is wired backwards and causes all my problems.

Problem with bad House theory? All the house wiring is perfect. They tried to convince me that a 4 wire residential 50amp outlet must have special magic RV electricity going to it. At that point I lost it. It was like them saying it was a dirty airfilter causing it.

When the generator is running, it is NOT running off house power anyhow.

They had tried to con me on other things on the earlier visits, but I just shrugged it off. But everyone has their breaking point.

We were ther last winter looking at a cyclone 5th wheel toy hauler, i was pulling our little 22' toy hauler so i parked by the service area.
when we came back to the truck to leave i saw an "older" guy fiddlin with his hitch, as i got closer i saw a bunch of tools and a big box that held his new weight distributing hitch.
He was cusin up a storm, i asked what was up and lent a hand. Took about 30 min to set up and get him goin, during that time he told me he got a ticket for not having one, giant wanted an hour to install it, but he was only made aware of this after he went back inside after he figured out he couldnt just "plug and play"said they laughed at him when he/they realized he had no idea of what he was doing, and they wanted for him to wait til they had time, said it would be a couple hours to get to it, he was pretty fed up and didnt want to pay 100 more dollars for that damn hitch, he thought the highway patrol and the rv store was in "cahoots" together, called it highway robbery!
I helped the grumpy ol guy and he was actually really nice and very grateful.
after the old guy left the service manager walked out and asked if i wanted a job.....me, the same guy who left a rag in his intake tract...i was less than impressed with that service area, and i think they coulda helped the guy out who bought a product from them, thats what i told him anyways, he said its a business they were there to get piad for what they do and walked off...
They had the best new rv selection in the area though...

I needed a 7'x 3' sheet of paneling it was going to cost me around 350.00 to have 1 piece shipped. I told them to kiss my azz I can go to lowes and do a whole room for less. They all are ripoffs. Harley shops are not that bad.

What now?

I don't know. I've always had poor luck when it comes to legal action when I win. I've never "won" a lawsuit in the long run, but have always won in court.

The only person who wins in the lawyer it seems.

The only reason I brought it to them was that it was under warranty.

The charging and TV stuff is just a nuisance. But they broke the TV outlets, because they worked before we brought it to them.

What I do is bring another generator, and a battery charger for long trips, and recharge the batteries manually.

I would be pissed if they done that to my motorhome! I can't believe they they tore the wood work up.

Me too I'd be so ripped they'd probably have to call the cops out of fear. Nothing worse then shabby work after the claim supereiority!

Pat,
What was the original complaint that brought you there ? What sucks is how can you trust them to even return it for repair? Sucks as I know that anger will get you know where but at this point your going to have to rain down a shit storm on them.

Good luck let us know how you make out.

The reason I ask Pat. Is two of our race car trailers have commercial gas onan's in them and they do not have 12 volt chargers built in them. The one that has a regular onan does have a charger. We went and bought a cheap onboard charger that stays plugged in all the time and now no more dead batteries.

That is pretty much what we have done all these years.

I'm taking a closer look at everything today.

I lost my temper and finally snapped 1/2 way through the Oct 5, 2012 (3rd) visit. They started BS'g me about stuff they know nothing about (4 wire residential wiring) and I raised my voice at them. Then the told me to take my MH and leave. They can be abusive to me and Kat, but when I push back, they puzz out. They called Kat a liar (she was the only sane person out of 6 people present), and things went south.

A letter to the Bureau of Automotive Repair probably won't do anything, but I will drop them a line. Same to the BBB (joke).

Maybe I will save a life. The exposed 200amp 12v wires are under the mattress in the back of the coach, the master bedroom. Nobody should be exposed to that. Was it deliberate? That I can't say.

If your still looking for a shop to take it in R&S repair in riverside is by far the best place. They have amazing prices and service. They also build custom trailers so there not just a run of the mill repair shop.

WOW!

They did inferior repair or a half ass attempt is more like it . Left wires in a possible fire hazard and they also cosmetically devalued your MH and told you get lost ?

WOW! I'd be livid! How about your warranty? There is no way I could let it go . I wish I had some advice to offer I hope you do get this rectified sounds like your going to have to make a lot of noise although.

Bad deal

They would have had to call the cops if I was there! Homie and I would of had problems when my stuff looked like that. I couldn't imagine sending something out of my shop like that. After I got out of jail I would have been back down there with billboards over me in front of there shop.
