Who has them and how many "coats" does yours have? New house is 99% done, and was thinking about a floor epoxy. I have 962sq ft of garage to cover, so costs will be higher, but just wondering who has them.
here's the coating I really like, walls of garage are white. For the cost of it, I could buy a set of Carrillo's, so engine fund, say goodbye :(

Don't get none of that home depot garbage! Go to border products , they are a commercial concrete stuff supply store, they sellsome high grade epoxy floor coatings that I'm sure will float your boat.

They have locations in pheonix.

Do it yourself it is super simple just like paint the damn walls. When prepped correctly even the home depot shit holds up, i did my dads garage with the home depot shit 5 years ago and still looks great. BUT prepping it is the key so it sticks!!!!

Brian, I know you and I have talked about this a lot, but there is a definite difference in professional and DIY kits. I've had it done at a couple houses and am absolutely pleased with my current floor.

It is absolutely great and well worth the $$. For the amount of time we spend in the garage, it's a great investment as much as we hate to admit it and try cutting costs. If you save a few hundred dollars today it WILL show in the future.

My last floor was Epoxy and it didn't last, my current floor is a hybrid which is 100% better.

Did you look at something like this http://www.ucoatit.com/2011web/main.htm ?

Looks easy to install, especially on new concrete.

Don't use that crap it will last a year or too that is it.

It cost more but worth it to pay for it done right with a warranty.

My buddy had called the Line-X guy and they put down a sweet coat that will last forever and is not like the bed stuff in look but just as strong. He has had if for 4 years still looks new and he is hard on it.

Idk about hybrid floor coverings, i have worked in a few garages/shops that have had epoxy floor coverings. The epoxy holds up really well under "normal wear/traffic"(car tires, feet, oils & solvents) i have seen it wear under repetitive rolling patterns from the castors of wheeled toolboxes and even chairs, epoxy, from what i have witnessed, chips when hard and square edged objects fall on it( big sockets, wrenches, breaker bars) It is really awesome to renovate an ugly or used slab with, works great for playrooms and daycares too! Imo, i would wait for your nice new garage to obtain some wear, afterall it is concrete, its simple and never really wears out. We bought our home new 8 years ago, when i scrub the floor, it still looks like new. Congratulations on your new home.

I'm gonna just do acid stain in my new shop.

My shed has the old lowes epoxy shit. It put it down when I moved in almost 7 years ago.

Brian, we have some new stuff at the shop my parents just made for their dog room to go on the concrete. Works just like the epoxy stuff but has a dull finish so no glare. I just dont know how it will do with tire wear and what not. If you want, let talk to my dad monday and ill be able to hook you up with the stuff if it will work. Im gunna do my garage with it this winter either with this new stuff or epoxy

My buddy used the white epoxy type. When it is clean, it helps out a ton with the lighting. It has held up good other then if you cut something with a torch. It will leave small black spots.

Brian you will need to acid wash the floor to remove any contaminates... applying epoxy is simple however that shit is down right toxic. Rustoleum(sp) makes a great product and it is sold as a kit. You can add the flakes I would however advise against it because there have been issues that cause that stuff to start flaking off. I'd go with a light or dark grey. Clean up is easy as well as touch ups.
