1200'ish will get you in the 6's is what I was referring to. I agree it takes some power just not 1600 to go that fast. I had mine on the dyno all day yesterday and the problem is finally GONE! :woott: It only took Brayden 2 pulls to find the problem then a handful to figure out why. I cant thank him enough and there data logger is the tit's! Problem solved and now to make some passes.

Sorry

Nobody here. I'm sorry you took it that way. I mean in general it seems a lot of these guys want everyone to believe they make bigger power than it would take to run the number. My car just made a little less than 1000 on a chassis dyno with no lockup and I think it will run pretty good. When we started it made 750ish banging and running like it has been. I'm just SO GLAD it runs clean.

Ahh ok. I was confused. I bracket race on a regular basis and I know and understand what it takes to go that fast. You can get to the 4.70's somewhat easy. Getting down from that to the 4.30's is a whole different story. Unless track prep is excellent you will end up blowing the tires off.

It's a heck of a ride. When I slow mine down because of track conditions it feels like a turd. That's with a 1.08 60 ft. With all the timing in it. It pulls below a .995

Been racing dragsters for 30 years , and on the tracks we have to race on in diesel events, its will take a little finesse to get the car down the track, but not really a big deal. I spec a slip joint car with the motor and driver as far back as possible. There are two places to put weight on a dragster on the rear and on the nose.

my D/ED would go 1.02 60 foots on a 12 inch tire , but you had to hang the car on the tire. 4.30 are very possible , and on NHRA and IHRA divisional tracks you could leave higher and hit the tire and keep it stuck. NHRA National event tracks are not usually as good to keep the fuel cars from ripping tires apart.

I expect 1.00 flat 60 foot when we have it all worked out . haven't got quarter mile yet , but I see 2.30 back half's are doable

Chassis dyno numbers with a NL convertor is apples and oranges. If you made 1000hp on a chassis dyno with a NL convetror your making at least 1200 at the motor, with a 15% Power train loss, and thats very conservative! 4.40's or even 50's will take about 1450-1500 at the motor in a light weight rail!

Years ago when we were on a rail team it ran 4.52 @ 154 on the dot with power glide and engine dynoed at 1465. The rear wheel #'s were around 1200 or so. We were 1850-1950 lbs depending on class

That is around 1200hp. That is a 12 degree 598 iron block.
