No kroutes for this kroute. And i HATE porshe never understood them, why pay more than double a new vette and maybe and i mean maybe beat a vette in the track? Not super impressive to me i have an uncle who is a porche finatic he is a frute wears the jacket and hats and shoes probably a underwear still gets waxed by z06. American iron/plastic/aluminum. I have some extra 4.8 heads and ls6/3 parts we just took off our little truck so i could do a little playing with parts. I think we will stay NA if we go boosted dad has a buddy at pro charger here in lenexa ks so we may go that route.

We ae headed to michigan next week so we will do some shopping around.

Pat you feel the truck intake is an improvement over the ls1/2/3/6 manifolds? I inow the trucks are taller for more tq but wasnt aware a car could benfit without losing top end

This was years ago, and certainly does not apply to the 427 Vette engine (different ports), but the Fbodies and Vettes have very little top clearance so they had to compromise. I had heard of success running the truck manifold, but I never went that path. I used a AFM? aftermarket manifold.

Oddly enough, the big dogs are running carbs and a tunnel ram.

Still seems odd to have a high tech modern engine with Flintstone era carbs on it... especially when places like Hogan & Wilson make some beautiful tunnel ram style sheet metal EFI intakes.

Yeah im with you, i would love a cross ram lq9/ls7 one of the big guys atleast with fastefi with 2 4 barrel efi throttle bodies

Big carb and a proper manifold will be efi any day in a drag configuration. ( NA )

Really? I have a hard time believing that honestly. Especially if you had a properly setup EFI (not necessarily stock) with a good tuner. Only reason I think you would want to run a carb is you're either scared/unwilling to move to EFI or class limited.

I believe it is more like a p pump Cummins vs a duramax. The p pump can deliver shit tons of fuel to go fast and make a lot of power, but you don't get the control that you get with the efi. So street driving can suck, and stuff like that.

Agreed, granted again coming from a boosted gas race car stand point... EFI offers you datalogging, and infinitely more than a archaic blow thru toilet bowl.

Cides, these days a decent EFI system would cost the same if not less than a top of the line blow through carb setup.

Actually a carb has an advantage due to it's venturi effect.
This allows the atomization & inherent cooling effect of the fuel vaporization.

Although minimal it can net a very slight advantage. For a professional racer, yes it may be a slight advantage, but for the average enthusiast, there is no comparison to EFI.

Keep in mind that unless you have a high tech weather station to accurately re-jet for temperature & barometric pressure changes, to keep the tune perfect, the EFI will likely always be ahead with its self tuning capabilities. I'll never miss pulling the float bowls off a Holley in the staging lanes because it got cloudy outside.
