700+hp e85 procharged 99 f body camaro, midnight blue metallic, I think, it's a sweet car:thumb:

Nice car but good luck doing much with it.

Factory 10 bolt and a 700hp motor (stock bottom end none the less). You would need to factor in another $3k for a nice rear end to stick under it. And of course, you remain on a stock bottom end...not a 4.8/5.3/6.0 but an old LS1 so, food for thought.

Also, 80# injectors on E85 at 700rwhp is at 80% duty cycle already, so more things to think about.

Pontiac G8 FTW!

I loved mine but was ready for something newer with a manual. The auto was the major downfall. They can be had for decent money, come factory fast and can be modified easily. Mine went 13.1 with a tune and exhaust. Swap in a Camaro 3.46 rear gear in place of the 2.92 and a few other tweaks.:woott:

Plus the car is 100% useful as a daily driver - huge backseat and trunk.

I wasn't aware the ls1 had a weaker bottom end?? Still 6 bolt cross main correct? What about the ls6.

Now not to knock the dude I'm sure it's an Awsome car, but a gorgon is preferable you just never know who's been in her and what they have done or have forgotten to do.. My luck with 10 bolts I wouldn't make it back to ks.

Just one case was Taig. He brought his Viper in for the full max effort treatment. When he finally had enough, he stopped by the shop, and many of his parts were sold, and nothing was done his car was done. There was a big list of victims.

Ohh so his shop screws ppl outta stuff? I remember locally there was a numbers matching 66 impala or something like that an old widow took into have some little work done. Few weeks later when it was done the son found out the engine had been swapped for something else. Nothin worse then a liar and thief! (Totally forgot what kinda car it was lol, but it was a very low mileage old gem)

If it's legal in your state, these get a lot of attention, both on the street and the track:

They used to be about $35k, but I think they went up.

In any case, they have true Supercar performance.

Lol its ks everything is legal here. I watched one of thise little things on the road course at the air strip he was rapeing that track. He did get beat by a cobra replica full tube frame and an ls7.

No one answered my question about the ls1 and ls6 bottom ends being weaker? I havent heard that i was under the impression they were 6 bolt cross mains?

Weaker, IDK.

But they have higher CR and what not. There is a reason a ton of people run 4.8/5.3 stuff vs the LS1/LS6

Gosh, I wish I could remember.

Nearly all the LS1 parts were upgraded for the LS6, yet maintained compatibility. Heads, valves, block, springs, cam, intake mani, etc, were all modified.

It's kind of like the LB7>LBZ but the changes were not as drastic.

If you get your choice you want the LS1 from 2002+ or the LS6. The early LS1 was not as stout.

IIRC, the 4.8/5.3 were iron blocks. Only the intake manifold (which was taller for trucks) could be considered a better component.

I assume he is talking bout boosted applications, at least I was.

If I wanted to make a turbo car, it would be a 5.3

But, my friend's LS1 car just ran 10s on 7 cylinders (lost some piston on one)
