Just wondering how many of you have full coverage (mainly comprehensive) and for how long. I added comprehensive when I first bought mine in 08 because let's face it I don't want it to get stolen or vandalized.

I can understand why anyone would do it on an lml but what about the older highly modified trucks, are you actually telling them about mods.

I've got full coverage on my 2009. It's still a 30k truck. Be a moron not too.

I have liability/comprehensive(theft, fire, etc) on my 2001. I'm honestly considering bumping it back to full coverage since it's only 35 bucks a month...

Full coverage here. My geico adjuster is a good friend of mine and I asked him just for the hell of it what would I get if this did get totaled? Just wondering if paying the extra was really worth it or not. He told me 21900$ it's a 02 with 118k. That price was of course including taxes and whatnot. So for me the extra 20$ A month is a no brainier.

full coverage on my 02,You don't need it until you do especially with a modded truck.Investment is just to big to chance it!

The problem with that is no insurance company is going to cover your mods unless you've disclosed them ahead of time and are paying the appropriate amount for the insurance.

I pay less than 100 bucks a month for full coverage on both of my trucks and my Mercedes, at that price it just seems silly to have anything less.

i've had full coverage on every vehicle i've owned, shitty ones too. the price difference isn't enough to not do it for me. I want full coverage for peace of mind if i let someone drive my truck and they wreck it or if it gets stolen or something. I've had expensive shit stolen from me and when insurance doesn't cover it it really blows.
plus any time there's hail or something like that it's always nice to have fixed with $ left over :thumb:

I have full coverage on mine and a rider on the mods to the truck. It's an extra 30 bucks a month but my motor (including twins, fuel, and other parts up front) and trans are covered should she disappear to Mexico. The rest of the goodies on the truck in not worried about, just the big chunks of money lol

James, it's good to see someone doing it right. I've seen lots of guys disappointed to find out the insurance company doesn't care about their built motor and how much it costs.

I have full on mine but the car will get a declared value policy via hagerty once my previous mistake goes away in a few months and they cover it.

Full coverage on mine. I too asked what I'd get if it were to ever be totaled or stolen. It was a lot more than I paid for it. Also have it on my '13 750 kawi brute force. It's like $110 a month for both and I'm not 25 yrs old yet.

I have full coverage on my truck and the wifes jeep, liability on my s10. Paid my truck off a year ago and see no reason to drop full coverage. I need to call my insurance and see what the difference would be to add "mods" insurance to my policy on my truck. I'd like to get about $20k on top of the trucks book value if it were ever totaled. Realistically, if i could get 12-14k over book value from insurance, I'd be happy..from a financial standpoint anyways.

I've had full coverage on all my nice trucks. My new 01 will have it when I get to the insurance place in the next few days.

There's to many worthless people around my parts with no insurance, plus it's helped me with some deer hits and stuff like that.. Never thought about asking about mod coverage..

exactly. granted, if i was in an accident, id be fighting the other company for the pay back on ALL my aftermarket parts but thats easy enough when i have receipts for all those parts. i learned this quick when i was t-boned by a red light runner in my samurai. come to find out, over the years we had about 10k in parts and labor cause we kept all the receipts. the part i hated was the insurance company would not add that amount into the vehicle cost so to them, it was still only worth 3k but we were cut a check for the 10k in receipts and the 3k for the zuk.

After that, i started looking into insuring my truck once i had the motor built and what i needed to protect myself there. specially after it got broke into 3 times. my rep at progressive has been really good with me. He set me up with the truck rider and was the only one i could get to insure my sand car. its damn hard to get those insured now a days. personally i think insurance is damn scam and wasted money but when you need it, YOU NEED IT so i figure if i can afford it, ill pay it.

I was thinking about this the other day! If I should drop my full coverage to liability, I need to call my insurance and see what book value is for my truck.

I have full coverage on all my vehicles through Safeco. Not worried about my LML or my wife's Yukon since they are 100% stock, but I asked Safeco about a Stated Value policy on my 1500 and was told they only do that for collector cars.

Private Party book value on my truck is only $4500 but it's worth a lot more than that with the swap and related parts. Do I just tell them I want to insure extra modifications or what? I thought I was SOL since they won't do a stated value policy but it sounds like there are other options...I want to do it right and make sure I'm covered, I have about $45k into it at this point.
