Hey Mike, what do you see in this pump, is it flow through in case of failure? It is a vane type so is it noisy? Really pricey...
JK makes a fine pump with good performance and it is noise free.

Hi Testdrive...

It is a variable speed motor and was hoping someone would come up with a controller that would vary the speed of the pump with the engine demands, no real need to push 100gph when in town or idling at stop light. Ya I know the excess is returned to the tank just seems to be a lot of unnecessary filtering of fuel.

Using the wiring diagram wire it up to run low speed and then install an adjustable Hobbs pressure switch in your boost piping and wire it up so that at X amount of boost, whatever you set it to, it will switch to full flow. I can't remember off the top of my head how it should look exactly but I know it can be done. These pumps have a hi/low setting as well as digital control. It is PWM controllable and I am sure a board can be made to interface with the ecm in our trucks. Just need someone to build a few.

Why hasn't some one put an inductive amp clamp on the power wire to the pump.. Give you an excellent idea how big of wire one would need.. My little knock off Jegs unit only pulls 4.5-5 amps

Would be an easy way to check it.
I wouldn't believe it to be higher than 10-12 amps tops at max pressure.

I have the velocity 200, I was told without the draw straw it will cavitate on the high setting because the factory pickup is too small. I believe Dustin used a draw straw from an airdog kit with mine. The instal kit from fuelab was too expensive. And I don't think there flow through. I'm having issues right now with my truck cutting of going down the road, I think it's the liftpump relay. Cut the switch off and back on and it cranks. Just slow like it ran out of fuel.

i just went through this same problem with the fass 150. turned out the feed line from the sump was sucking shut under pressure. it has the blue push-lock that came with the install kit, might check that if you havent already.

I've got a brass looking plug above the separator. Is this for a fuel pressure sending unit? I've got an autometer gauge and the sending unit looks like it may work here?

Looks like it. Open it up and see if it is ported through to the outlet of the pump.
Or turn the pump on for a second and see if it pisses fuel out!:D

It's pointed straight at the outlet. I always figured the sensor for a fuel pressure gauge was mounted somewhere under the hood. This will certainly simplify things if that is what it's for.

Well you can put one under the hood in a few spots but at the pump works also.

Let me know what happens, I definitely don't want to break down driving cross country do to a small relay.
I figured Id update. After installing a gauge, and yes the sensor for the gauge did work in the port on the liftpump. I replaced the relay just to eliminate it and that wasn't the issue. Ends up it was a loose ground. This is probably the first thing I should have checked but me being an idiot, I checked it last lol. liftpump is doing great!!!

Was it a harness crimp fail on one of the ring terminals...?

That's good to know! One less thing to worry about, thanks for the update.
