What are you guys running to keep together with IFS? I've broke 4 slide collars this year. This weekend finally windowed the aux case, and most likely ruined the splines on a second axle shaft. I have a welded spider setup, so as of now I cant run a solid axle. NEED TO STEER!!! I've looked into the billet collar by DHD but they are waiting on the machine shop (seems like they always are when I want to order something lol). That would be the cheapest option. 600 bucks vs Im guessing 3k for any other setup (please correct if wrong) I'm kinda iffy about a locker seeing as they can 3 wheel peel at any given time.

Whats with the air lockers, how well do they work?



Also while were on this topic..... Who runs a billet rear yoke? I can't believe I'm even thinking about it. But I've broke 2 1480 stock yokes in the past 2 seasons :mad:

I think most guy's run an E-locker or ARB with Fleece one piece shaft. That's the route I will be going over the winter.:thumb:

I would also like to get the RCV front cv shaft's, but will have to see if there's any money left!!!

Id ditch the welded setup. Get an E-locker, install it correctly so the wire doesn't rub and short out. Get the solid shaft and b done with it.

And if I run a locker up front wouldn't I still get some 3 wheel peel

you shouldnt with either selectable or an auto type (like detroit lock rite or the full carrier type). most you might get is a "BANG" or "POP" from the auto type from the cogs locking in. this can cause a shock load to hurt inside parts if under an extreme bind when it happens like the ones in the rear can do. if a selectable does that, something is broke or wrong lol

I have a E-locker now and have never had a problem with it locking up both front tires!

We've also never had a problem with the e-locker in my truck locking the front. Lock it at a stop right before pulling out onto the track. Never have a heard a bang or boom when it engages. Sometimes you have to back up at the end of the track to get it to disengage.

How are you able to turn left with it locked?

I think the strongest and cheapest route would be to put either a fleece, or stock solid ps shaft in it. Keep it welded and get a hydraulic cylinder tied to our centerlink.

Yes. Well they say they allow "hydro assist steering". Which means I prolly can't technically run full hydro but noone techs anyways lol. Someone's been running a hand throttle and that's against the rules. Anyways unless there's a cheap way to do a "assist" setup that will make turning locked easy. I think I can find a orbital valve somewhere run into the stock steering shaft with some mods. Run a single rod end into maybe the shock location on the centerlink. That verus trying to fit a duel rod end cylinder in place of the centerlink. If i need a cooler (which I don't think I do) I can use the trans cooler as a heat exchanger
