Well I"ll admit to not thinking thru my original post in my head before typing, but was only after some added info from this single charger achievement! By no means do I consider myself a specialist at ANYTHING i,m just another idiot! I am not interested in info related to "land speed" only configurations, duramax longevity at high horsepower levels is an interesting topic of study.

I didnt mean to sound like I came at Braydon personally and felt he had handled it with tact and maturity, it was only a couple of his penis holders that fell off the porch and came barking that was comical! At any rate, I never questioned what you had achieved with your latest effort and I'll claim ignorance to the fact that you build your race motors to last for only one pull, so i will just meagerly back my way out the door on this one as I have screwed the pooch on getting any kind of case study data here. Thanks for your time.

Penis holders... ?

They're not built for 1 pull only. Just not 2 minutes...

Fire away... What data would you like to see?

I've never seen anyone advertise there motor as "forged". What makes this motor any more forged than any other purpose built motor?

Stock pistons, even if cut/coated etc, are cast... The Mahle pistons in this motor are forged aluminum. You'll hear people talk about engines, like an LS1, as a Forged 408, or Forged 427 motor. It's pretty common.

what do you do different from a motor like this compared to one that will still be DD and raced/pulled on the wkends?

Since this motor has forged pistons it's not really set up to be a daily driver. You can drive it on the street and drag race it, they actually drove it to a couple of local pulls, and drove it through the parade :)

Nobody has tested, and then posted, the results of running forged pistons in a daily driver application. The problem with running forged pistons is the flat ring that won't shed carbon like a keystone ring will. You can't run a keystone ring in a forged piston because it will hammer the ring land out of it in short order.

So the answer is.. it's up to you.. If you want to daily drive a forged motor then you'll most likely rebuild it once a year or two. I don't have hard numbers on the mileage or time.

We haven't built one of those engines for drag racing yet and probably won't. It's designed to make the most of a small(ish) turbo. If air were unlimited we'd change a few things around.

We built another forged motor that is setup for big air and some nitrous that should make well above 1000hp. We'll have dyno numbers sometime in January after we get the twins put on and get it dialed in.

I'll be DDing Mahle Forged pistons until I can afford a second vehicle. they have already been run 1 pulling season in this motor and torn down, things looked great. I plan to drive 10k miles a year and race/pull. I'll be sure to post up my findings, I have nothing to hide.
