First DMax

Not new to the site or diesels, but just bought my first Duramax. Been a Power Stroke guy for quite a few years. Couple 7.3 trucks, one that hit 938hp on the dyno and a couple 6.4L trucks. Sold my 2010 6.4 wanting to get out of some debt so we could get into our own house. Found a super clean 2002 Duramax with just 98,000 miles on it. Already had the injectors replaced under warranty and had an Edge box, 4" Magnaflow, and Fleece Tapshifter. Should make for a good daily driver, excited to start modding something new to me...

nice truck! let me know how you like the tapshift.. ive been considereing getting one.

Tapshifter is great, especially if you're towing very often. We have some pretty long steep grades here in Utah so it's nice on the downhills.

938hp out of a 7.3... impressive.

Here is a video of the 7.3L, Industrial Injection Dyno event 2010...corrected was 1018, uncorrected was 938. Truck made 480 on fuel :hehe:

And my last 6.4L with the single turbo made 607hp uncorrected, just a tune and our turbo. Stock trans, stock fuel.

Thanks, and I'm sure I will. They're great trucks. Need to get going on a trans build and have talked about trying our 6.4L single turbo out on it. The better flowing heads should make our turbo run pretty damn wicked on the DMax motors.

Just an update. First few tanks of fuel with the Edge CTS Evolution tuning best tank of fuel got 16.1mpg. Was a little disappointed at first to see it wasn't getting as good of fuel mileage as my 6.4 did, but with the EFI stuff from Rob, that isn't an issue anymore. Been getting 17.5-18.1mpg with the DSP5 tunes he sent.

Tune #3 limped the trans in 5th gear though, gotta take it easy on the ole girl
