Mine cracked at the 2nd journal though.

I tore a truck apart that had the same break in the same spot don't know exactly what happened just know the crank was cracked.

Yours broke back at the 4th journal too?? Hell that makes me feel better kinda

What is causing so much stress at the 4th journal that is not equally distributed throughout the entire crank?

Typically they say this happens between the 1st and 2nd journals I actually haven't ever read any cases of it breaking back at the 4th journal like this

Did you find any metal in the filter or pan?
I have a sneaking suspicion mine is gonna look the same way. No metal shavings anywhere though.....

Isn't the crank randomly break as well?? Like it can great at stock or 1000 hp. Hard to tell? No set hp number?

No metal in the pan besides for a little piece of the crank and that was it.

Ck- yes it seems like its a luck of the draw :/

Did you happen to find a crank yet? I've been looking for one for my 06 topkick. I'm just doing a stock rebuild, so I don't need anything super strong or light weight.

I've talked with mark at Danville and he suggested I just buy a new one for my build. These cranks are strong enough to hold a lot it's just kind of the luck of the draw

got some parts finally coming in! hamilton pushrods, hamilton valve springs, hamilton 192-200 cam, fingers oval chamber pistons .020 overbore and 15.5:1 compression.:thumb: these pistons are almost too beautiful to be inside a motor!

Yes they are! I got mine a few days ago and sent it all to the machine shop and can't stop looking at the pic I took of how awesome they look!!! Lol.

Quinton, what cam and compression are you running in yours?

Gonna run stock can for now maybe change it later on. Compression is 16.5.1. I got a good deal on these so couldn't pass em up.

Not used. Brand new but the guy went a different route. He had them cut when he first bought them.

bringing this back from the dead as i have been trying to acquire parts here and there along with my son being born :woott:i have had to lay low for a bit. as i have had a few questions arise i hope i can get answered in getting this build going again.

1. how important are billet injector hold downs with studs vs stock hold downs with studs?
2. i will be running main studs so how necessary are billet mains or a girdle? i hope for this engine to be at least 900hp
3. should i get titanium retainers or do anything with the rocker shafts while im buying parts?
4. anything you all can think of to help this build be good and solid

I'm not going with any of that withy build and I plan on pushing it to 900+. I went with rods, main studs, pistons, keyed everything. No girdle, no billet hold downs, no rocker arms or push rods.
