LBZ: finally the motor build and to see what let loose!

its time to tear into the engine and find out what happened and build the damn thing! i dont post much on here i just read ALOT and decided to share my build on here. long story short my motor started clangin and bangin one day when i was just cruising and threw a p0336 code. changed the sensor and it didnt fix it so i put a wrench on the crank and can keep turning it with barely any compression so i let it sit for a while till i got the funds to build the motor because i knew that was the least that was gonna happen if it came out. i have no idea what went on inside my engine but im about to find out soon! plan on stepping up to 100 overs instead of my current 60% exergy injectors, a cam, rods, pistons(hopefully fingers) and billet main caps and studded(if thats really needed) im undecided on a builder yet but my options are kinda open at this point.

Where are you from if you don't mind me asking and where did you buy the truck? I test drove l e that look EXACTLY like yours a few years back and like the look.

I'm from north eastern Indiana but I flew down to Dallas ft worth, Texas in january 2011 to pick up the truck from a dealer. They didn't know crap about what they had it had a lot of goodies when I bought it. But I took it further and then to make the story of this truck worse...the truck broke after I let my ex drive it for a day...

Yep I am almost 100% sure that that's the truck I test drove right before I got mine!! Lol in 2010 I test drove it and likes it a lot. Had the water meth, ats trans, ats turbo in it. Only thing I didn't like was it had a few dents if I remember. But ran strong and where asking a little much at the time.

Dmax...I dont know I just feel like it can have more in it I know the injectors need gone through so I figured I would go up to 100% I couldn't keep rail pressure up because of my lift pump but on the lowest tune it made 550hp 900tq when Duramaxtuner tuned it. I just thought I would step it up a notch since it'll be a built motor now.

Quinton.. Yep it had all that when I bought it lol it has 2 small easy fixes that are barely noticeable I got to get the truck for 30k out the door it had 82k on it when I bought it

It also had the aurora 3000 on it when I bought it and stock injectors of course and no headers and a whole list of other stuff but when I got it just like you said it was pretty strong running

Ya they where asking 32k for it and hid 82k miles like you say. Loved everything about the truck just wasn't ready to spend 32k yet. Lol.

I always wondered how the hell all that stuff got done then ended up at a dealership lol the carfax said it got sold at auction so maybe the guy ran out money or somethin only the second owner. The tan interior is awesome in it and it has some rocky mountain truckworks label stitched into the center console

Ya. I was being very picky about it and the guy didn't know what was all fine to it also. Interior was nice!

Yes sir I drove it to go do chores in the morning and it was fine theb I went to go somewhere else and was simply just cruising along at about 40 mph and boost was at maybe 4psi I was actually about to set the cruise then it started shaking and banging and I shut her down

My 03 LB7 did the same thing. Cruise set at 60mph down the highway and did the same thing. It started bangin and clangin. Shut it down and pulled over

I tore a truck apart that had the same break in the same spot don't know exactly what happened just know the crank was cracked.
