2. P0650 MIL Control Circuit Malfunction
3. P0113 IAT Sensor/Circuit High Input
4. P0102 MAF or VAF A Circuit Low Input
5. P0101 MAF or VAF A CKT Range/Perf
6. P0676 Glow Plug/Heater Cylinder 6
7. P0181 Fuel Temp Sensor A CKT Range/Perf
8. P0381 Glow Plug/Heater Indicator Circuit Malfunction
9. P0650 MIL Control Circuit Malfunction
10. P0128 Coolant Temp Below Thermostat
11. P0102 MAF or VAF A Circuit Low Input
12. P0101 MAF or VAF A CKT Range/Perf
13. P0676 Glow Plug/Heater Cylinder 6

I know some are repeats but thats what the reader said. here is the wiring that i did in my truck to perform the swap. i have the 2003 truck. in the C2 block i moved the 2 orange wires in F4 to position A8. moved onto c100 female plug. moved bodyside C to N, moved M to R, moved G to J. added a wire to B for the 6 speed tap. also added the wires to F and G for the OBD port. anyone have any other help that can get this motor started here??? thanks guys

There are a couple of different sources for codes, so I doubt one thing is causing them all. Did you clear the codes before you tried to start it?

The MAF/IAT1 wiring goes directly from the ECM to the MAF, so you could have a bad MAF or bad wiring. Are the LB7 MAF's the same as the LLY/LBZ MAF? P0381 & P0650 coulf be due to a miswire or bad connection at C100. P0128 is ususally only set when it takes too long for the motor to get up to temp, usually indicating a thermostat that's stuck open.

Did you happen to do a VATs relearn or disable VATs in the ECM? If not, that would cause something very similar to what you described. It'll fire for a fraction of a second, die, then only crank.

If you did not do a VAT relearn, here's the procedure (copied from one of Kat's posts):

Try to start it, then turn the key back to run. DO NOT TURN IT TO OFF.

Wait 11 minutes (time it).

Try to start again, then turn key back to run. ditto.

On the third cycle, it will ignore the VIN differences in the various modules and will start.

This is how you get a busted truck on the side of the road running when you fry the PCM. You put in a PCM from any other truck of the same type engine, and go through the procedure.

A Tech2 can do the same thing in 1 minute instead of 30 minutes.

If you have EFILive, you can also change G0301 to "disable".

yes i tried the vat relearn. my batterys are dead now so i am not sure. what wires were all needed to move? i moved F4 to A8 in the C2 plug. C100 i moved bodyside females C to N, M to R, G to J, added a wire in B for tapshift, added a wire in G and F up to the OBD port. am i missing something?

i got the swap done and the wiring issue with all the codes i had figured out. now its down to just glow plug 6. so im thinking its a glow plug issue. gotta hook up the tapshifter and then its done done. this motor is so quiet compared to that lb7!!

Bad glow plug wouldn't cause a no-start. Still smells like VATs. Did you try disabling security in the tune?

Attached are my notes on C100... Had to reconstruct them from the schematics since I couldn't find my notes from last year

Edit: Fixed omission in doc

Can one swap an LBZ into an 01 with a ZF6? I'm ready to put a fresh motor in and an LBZ would sure be nice to have so I can avoid more inejctors.

Anyone ever do a full write up?

Did any of you guys who have performed this swap (LB7 -> LBZ) do a full write up? I have had it with injector changes. Looking for my donor truck now, and I want to gather up all of the necessary pieces. A write up with pics would be an amazing help.

You're more than welcome to pm me about it. I have 3 swaps under my belt now and helped grey though his. Not hard at all really. Just plan for your truck to be down for a few weeks for part gathering ect. Actually transplant takes 2-3days.

You have to use the new style (2-potentiometer) plastic one. The LBZ ECM isnt compatible with the older style (3-pot) metal accelerator pedal.

i know its been a while since anyone has posted on here. im new to the site and the reason i joined is because i want to drop a lbz into my 02 and i know there have been a lot of people saying its not possible at all then some people saying it is. I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. im looking to get a complete donor truck that has been wrecked that i can use all the wiring from and maybe even the motor and trans if its low enough miles. any info on the subject would be great!!
