I know of trucks holding 700 while getting beat on constantly and I know of trucks that broke with just a mild canned tuner. Roll the dice but it's expensive if you lose.

There are trucks that have lost pistons with 1/2 that HP..

Lb7/LLY have weaker rods on avg then LBZ/LMM
LML head bolts/gaskets are better then everything previous

I caught the sarcasm... Seams some didn't lol

I'm around 650 on stock lly rods. Been like that for 3 years. Stock stall converter, s475/stock, 40% nozzles, de torqued tune and I drive it like I stole everytime I get behind the wheel. FTW

Those are all awesome numbers. My luck I'd be sitting on the side of the road picking up pieces with a magnet

Stock bottom end LB7 s366 set on kill for 190k, truck has 290k on it. Has run many many many sub 7 sec passes. Fwiw.

I think Mark is on to something with his cylinder pressure tuning setup.

One thing to remember: torque is what kills, not hp. Cylinder pressure creates TORQUE... The torque number is what you need to be concerned with.

Unfortunately for me torque is how I make $$$ :(
Definitely like to get marks pressure test on my truck though
