I'm right in the middle of some work stuff I have to get done. I'll look for the new pics a little later though. It now resides where the pass battery was :D

Gotcha. Unfortunately that's where my coolant tank is now. I was making room for a 4" intake and 3" boost pipes. :D

are there any trucks that have reloacted the FICM that drive more then 1/4 mile or 300 ft and then get on a trailer and sit? id love to do this but i DD my truck so i dont want it to fail while 500 miles from home.

I know Sphinney DD's his truck. Just do the math, If fuel temps get up to 140* on an 80* degree day the coolest the the FICM will ever get is 140*. Remove the 140* fuel and now you have the possibility of reaching ambient temps. I am going to run mine dry but before the pulls I will fill the FICM with either washer fluid or cold water and drain it after the pull.

The large yellow wires with the green tracer in the harness are a 3 wire with shield setup.

They are used for the cam and crank sensor and also for the rail pressure sensor.

Except for the fact that the FICM creates its own heat. That is the only problem keeping me from running mine dry...

Last year, when my truck still seen road time, i could lay my hand on my FICM, that was relocated, but dry, right after a 45 minute drive on the way home from making several 11 or 10 second passes at the track. Can any of you guys with fuel going through them? Oh wait, let me guess... theres a reason its like that from the factory, right MikeS?

From what ive read, fuel and underhood temps get a lot hotter idling than they do driving, so imo a pulling truck, that has a lot of idling around time in the pits, would get hotter than a truck driven on the highway everyday.

well i think this will be something i end up doing. going to delete the stock fuel filter and have the fuel line go from the tank to a replacement filter to the mitusa to the WD CP3. should be easy...

Actually yeah...someone forgot that it needed to be in there and went "oh shit where we gonna put this damn thing?!?!" LOL!

Sounds like, by your expirience its not a problem. Guess I won't worry so much about it. I was just assuming (yeah I know...) that working with 96 volts it would get at least somewhat hot...but then again I guess it depends on how many amps are being transmited as well. Think I'll move mine, and if it seems like its getting too hot afterwards I'll figure out how to cool it later...but it sounds like there is no need. My life just got a little bit simpler! :happy2:

New "cooled" FICM location :D
No the fan is not attached to the cool can, it's just there
Yes the air is being drawn in past the "chilled" cooler in the other pics.
This is not completed yet, there will be a pump circulating cool water

When I first disconected the fuel from the ficm I rigged up a 4 quart canister and circulated fuel seperatly. Thru my ficm. IMO waste of time I'd did npt make any difference on a race truck

and I'm am somewhat curious as to peole that think a ficm can not handle 20 psi? Why is it that u think that?

I wondered that too when I looked at a spare that we have here earlier...doesn't seem to have any weak spots that could leak, or even any joints internally that could leak.

But I noticed today that the one on my '04 is different then the one pictured...the inlet and outlet are on the same end, and the base doesn't seem to be nearly as stout...trying to decide if I want to take it appart and see how its routed inside or not...LOL! I don't have a spare like this one.
