I'm probably gonna get flamed for this but oh well. I have a pair of Brahma boots that I bought at Walmart on '05. They're the steel toe logger style boots with the Vibram sole. They have worked great for me and they are very comfortable. Plus they work good for supporting an injured ankle when you're not in the mood to wear a removable cast. But then again I'm pretty sure all good boots would work well in that situation.

Cat Field Service. Pretty rough conditions oil, grease, mud, Trash (I hate the landfill), snow, ice, water etc etc. 20 hour days sometimes I love them & would recomend them to anyone who wants one tough ass boot. Just remember 2 weeks of hell breaking them in then your in heaven.

Whites logger.... one reason alone. The steel plate in the sole. Shoved too many 16's and concrete sinkers completely through my foot to do that anymore. Demo days, I'm wearing boots. Damn things are 4 years old, still got good sole, and no roughing in the leather. Only reason i'm getting another pair is 14's dont fit anymore.

Like Burndown said, sticker shock is a definate. Not cheap, but ohhh so worth it.

Even better, look down to see the top of a 6" concrete nail sticking two inches out of the top of your shoe.....Been there, done that, cussed like you've never heard before. :D I guarantee you'll walk a little funny after one of those.

Nails of any kind, rammed through a foot or hand, are no fun. kinda makes you want to be a little neater so sht like that dont happen anymore. I know I dont jump off a ladder from 6 ft up anymore. :D

Whites only for me. Worn them for the last 12 years, only boot I can get to hold for more than 3 years (soles are pretty slick by then). You can get the whites custom built if off the shelf ones don't fit well. Just a note breaking them in is a bitch plan on at least 2 weeks of shear pain, Hmmm maybe they break your foot into the boot:D. Seriously they are the most comfortable boots or shoes once broke in. I tried Justins, Danners, Redwings, etc, etc, none were as comfy or held up. Sticker shock is rough but its worth it to me. Good luck. Oh and their rebuildable. 225 for the last ones. Replaced everything but the uppers even new eyelets.

Learned some tricks for breaking them in and to avoid "white's bite" that you get on the ankle.

Haha Im going to put the leather laces in supposedly they stretch as your boot does so the leather stretches evenly. Any merit to this? Few guys have told me this and I guess thats why they come with a pair?

Any preffered oil? I use Obenauffs on my other stuff and like it quite well. What do you do for a living Burn Down? If you already posted it sorry as I missed it.

Cat field service, in oil, grease, trash, rocks, ice, water, mud, so on. Pretty much the roughest conditions for a pair of boots. I can't remember what I have been using for boot grease (comes in a little white with blue lettering can). I think Whites recomends bee's wax grease only. Keep them greased well helps the break in go quicker.
