So since you all have nothing better to do I thought I’d make a post about my poor old lbz. I bought the truck January 26 2018 as a stock regular cab long box 2006 lbz with 365,000kms 226,000 miles

With plans of making it a race truck I bought a pack of grinder blades and went at it.
IMG_4118.jpeg I cut the frame to make it a super short box gutted the bed and added front coil over kit.
And a set of caltracs
I think it was stock fuel with a drop in 72mm vgt and dual stock cp3’s

On stock transmission I did a 11.7

This truck has raced every year and has had its share of issues. been upgraded slowly to what it is today.

Fuel only currently it went a best of 9.85 at 140mph in the 1/4

Then Friday I decided I’d had enough and sprayed it with a .073 jet and that seemed to help the 60’ enough were my bad driving and short shifting didn’t matter and set the new stock bottom end 1/4 mile record.

The parts on the truck are as follows.

Engine
Fass 220gph lift pump
Dual stock cp3’s
300% flux injectors
79/89 1.15 vs turbo
Nitrous express max5

Suspension
Caltracs
Dual adjustable Viking shocks
Viking Coil overs

Interior
N/A lol

Weight
Truck hasn’t been weighed in a while but is still around 4600 lbs

I think the truck has a 5.80 in it and a 8.90 with a little better track prep and driving.

Thanks for having me !

Mark said this truck has a 4L80 in it? If it is stock, how are you keeping it in one piece?

It’s far from stock. It has a factory case but has lots of billet shafts and such. I had it built by a local builder but it will need a refresh this off season as it actually went into neutral for the last 100ft of my record pass.

Nothing wrong with that. I finally just got a denali grill for my 1500. Now I need to get the bumper shell painted to match the truck.

Which converter are you running? Also stock flex plate? What kind of transmission electronics are you running? I thought about putting something other than the Allison in my truck when it was broke last year.

Great job on the pass. The 60' is the most impressive to me. I take it you're running a manual valve body?

I have a SoCal billet flex plate which is needed for safety. It has a tcs dual disk converter with a decently low stall speed. And it has a full manual valve body so it’s only got 2 wires one for trans brake and one for converter lock up.

I had my van setup to spray out of the hole. I had the nitrous wired so it was deactivated with the trans brake, but it turned it on as soon as I let go of the button. It definitely liked the nitrous. It would do high 1.6/low 1.7 60' on fuel, but it dropped almost a tenth on spray.

I have it set up the same way as you except I have a max 5 progressive controller so it hit it .4 seconds in with 20% of a .073 jet and then feed it all in by the 330’

Well blew it up good spun 3 mains bearings and cracked a piston. Also put oil all over the track as it blew the rear main seal out. But it’s the end of the season here and have plans on making a whole new thread on the new build as the truck sold as a roller. Truck did still do a 9.85 with a 1.55 60’ at 137mph spinning on its own oil through the traps.
