This. Tried the tension strap and crescent... wouldn't hold it tight enough to break the nut loose. Took about 30 secs with this ..... $60 for one time use though.

No the tool goes into holes on the front of the pully, put the groove of the tool around the nut, tabs towards the pully, then use a wrench on the nutand the tool to hold the pully to remove the fan!!

took a peg board hook, bent another end, slid it into the pull, took a prybar and wedge it between the pulleys and had to give the nut a little bit of heat to come loose but it was simple and all i use was about 15cents of gas on the little torch and a 25cent pegboard hook.

Under a big a$$ rock...
My tool of choice its and air chisel. All you gotta do it bust it loose and it comes right off!

Look what the cat dragged in. :D You still alive?

Yeah well...

I just got a 24" long flat chisel for my air hammer... No more fighting to get it in position and it takes 2 seconds to bust her loose I will never take a clutch fan off with out it ever again!!!

You are not beating the hell out of it. Not even close.

Seriously, it was a couple easy pops and it was loose. You only have to move it like 1/20 of a turn before you can spin it off by hand.
