Did you use anything to clean the frame after you got the rust and wax off?
I got most of the thick parts off with the paint scraper. After there was a really thin layer I used the sea foam and a rag and it took it right off. Wiped it dry then used the rust reformer. After it dried I did the final truck bed coat.

Alright I'm in the process of doing mine and used air craft remover and a scraper. Bought some mineral spirits to wipe on after I get all the gunk off. Time consuming as I'm gonna rough it up with 80 grit sand paper. Have about 7 hours in mine so far and not even done yet.

Time consuming is an understatement. Take your time and do it right the first time, don't want to have to do it again. Good luck!

You guys using the seafoam/diesel to remove the crap, then mineral spirits to clean for paint? Putting any primer down or just whatever you've got for paint?

A rust reformer to stop the oxidation. It turns the rust into a paintable surface.

Wheel wells in the bed need something. Not sure what I'm going to do there yet. Maybe the same thing idk. I hate taking my wheels off more than I have to.

Just need to paint the axle now. And you can get plastic liners for the rear wheel well.

Axle is done as well. If I remember I will take a picture. Give a second I have to run out to the garage anyway. Have my exhaust tip soaking in diesel, need to check on it.

TX of course
I used several coats of plastic dip on my front wheel wells 2years ago its holding up pretty good. Did my rears with rubber under coating 7years ago and it didn't hold up for shit. A little better prep would of helped, but still wouldn't of held up.

Do the liners cover up into the wheel tubs? Or just the lower part and cover up the bed sides? Here is the axle.

Also I need to add to the exhaust topic, I have the mbrp exhaust......I hate it!! Ubolt typr Clamps, it sucks. Had to move some hangers to get the exhaust high enough to clear the axle. They had the axle bend over the pumpkin which left no room after I lowered.

The rubber undercoating I can bluntly say is F***ing s**t!!! Prep or no prep. That's why I have been using the truck bed coating all these years. It's textured.

It's like 13 bucks a can I used about 6 or 7 cans on axle, frame, driveshaft. I haven't done the front wheel well frame area yet. I'm going to wait until next weekend when I do the key swap.
