I'm getting down to dotting the "t"s on this fantastic project. :happy2:

Thank you to the entire community for sharing knowledge and especially the McRats for hosting it.

This is my original motor which popped the head gaskets at 160km for various reasons  I've been running another stocker for two years while I did the top end and weighed my humble options.

The "Group Buy" from Trent was bang on. Thank you Trent :thumb:.

I'll post the continuing progress and refinements through install in the next couple of weeks.

I'd take any advice on fuel rail mods to consider at this point. I'm planning on a lift pump soon and ?? CP3 later but staying with stock injectors for now.

This is new to me. Give me some slack!

EPR ( Extreme Prejudice Racing ) is a very small family Business run it out of a 5k sq ft shop at my house , I starting it this year to help pay for the ever growing expense of racing and help support the family after my wife got her hours cut at work , have gotten real busy and has been growing since , mostly build turbo stuff and transmissions.

Looks good Rod !! now get that thing in the truck and lets break that stock trans  JK

Ha, you're probably not that far off. I'm planning on doing something about that over this winter but sounds like there may be some deep snow for sledding :D

Should I drill out the orifices to the fuel rails or shim anything? I will have an extra LB7 CP3, hmmm.

Come on Rod, The sled has to be pulled to the hills with something. Let's get our trannies done! :D:thumb: Tyler and I need them. Hint Hint TRENT!:)

That thing looks bad a$$. It's coming along. It's hard to see in the pics but that intake horn looks PURDY! I will have to come by again and have another look. (I'll try not to drool all over it)

That intake horn is PURDY, thanks for that my friend

The BD manifold also looks better and thanks for that too! :thumb:

The weak link now in it all is the RH up pipe. I'd like to improve on its flow to be at least as good as the LH. I wonder if a LH would bolt on if I reclocked the flanges. Levi has mentioned great improvements with wrapping up pipes and you just can't wrap the stock RH up pipe. I think it would help with tuning actually. I'm getting pumped :D

Looks awesome man! I bet it's easier with the motor out?

Yes, it has been easy and very enjoyable :) . Heated floor in the shop, boot liquor internet radio, duramaxdiesels.com on the home page and all the time in the world with a good spare motor running in my truck while I did it. :thumb: After the swap: Ally build.

lookin good!

Thanks!

I just returned from a road trip to get my new to me exhaust. It is exactly the system I've always wanted; Corsa. It is off an 02 CC/DRW so fitment should not be an issue. It does need repair though, the outlet (or inlet ??) is broken and I'll need to get it welded. Price was right - a flat of beer!

I'm wondering;

- is the muffler directional and how how is that determined?

- someone said I could use SS rod with a buzz box to fix it ? ?

- is that a standard exhaust flange on the front pipe? I need a gasket.

- where will my 4" downpipe mate up with relevant to that concrete line?

Thanks for any feedback.:hello:

corsa muffler repair

the end with the two holes opposite each other is the inlet. also there will prolly be a small weep hole in the exhaust end of the main case, be sure to mount it so the muff can drain condensate. looks like standard flange . not sure about the welding part.

You should be able to weld it with just a regular mig welder. The stainless Banks muffler I stole from Sweetdiesel has been welded on the end caps with MIG and is holding good where it was welded. Only downside is that it will rust.

We had a look at it today and it needs a days work. I'll go with that magnetflow (not SS!) for now and repair the Corsa, its a Sweet 4" Single.

I wrapped the up pipes and some more. Wonder what Levi thinks...?

(pictures are not working :()

I'm glad you wrapped them. I think t's a good idea at the very least to wrap all hot piping under the hood and I'm not going to try and tell you my blankets are the only way to do it. I just haven't ran across anything that performs as well yet. Heat blankets are one of those items that you get what you pay for but with enough wrap and layers it'll do a pretty dang good job. Glad to hear the build is going well! :thumb:
