Take a look at my post above, I added pics. Its the DEI "Titanium" 1800* stuff. I was pleased that it even fit around the pass pipe. It's not the prettiest but should help keep the heat in.

Being its so hard to get to, is there any reason not to do this, and I have more ss tie straps, should I throw more at it?

Your awesome blankets won't get final installation for a few more hours Levi ;)

My next one (a real build on the mill that just came out) will have RDL up pipes and blanket everywhere :D

I think it looks good and should serve a good purpose. I haven't had a chance to mess with DEI's new wrap but I've heard good things, especially over the normal fiberglass stuff that turns so brittle it's about junk after a couple good heat cycles. I usually only put stainless ties at the end of a wrap but if you're concened about it, put a couple extra on there. Last thing you want to do is have it come loose after you stuff the engine in. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised how cool things will stay wrapped, even over a single turbo truck that isn't.

I'm also thinking of performance, I know when they started coating/wrapping the pipes on snowmobiles there was noticeable improvement in consistent power delivery. I guess it helps velocity or conserves energy?

Got the motor in and bolted to the trans and TC. I've turned the corner! :D

Ceramic coatings appear to have definite value for exhaust and intake parts. It is evident on snow machine tricks still done just for how to make it right on customs.

That's my cousins shop. He gives us guys that helped build it full use. :thumb: I just spent 4 days living in the camper over there. I drove in Wed, did the whole thing, and drove home tonight.

I remembered EVERYTHING I needed for the whole project, except the tune  I'm heading out the door with laptop now....;)

So far that tune seems like a good compromise between what I want (lots) and what I need (less, for the sake of trans).

Thank you for everything Trent, I am very pleased! :D The product and support has been great :nanawrench:

Thanks to everyone else who helped me on this thread and my other fuss-ass trivial questions; fender liner, blocking the damper etc and noob EFI stuff too.

Jarasic, I am grateful for the feed horn and deal you secured on the BD manifold too :thumb: We'll work together on those trans soon, no doubt ;)

Wow Rod. Things are really moving along. It wasn't that long ago I was over looking at a bunch of parts spread out in your shop. Your set up looks awesome!

Yes Jaris lots of things happened last weekend and almost all for the good. I broke the control terminal on the starter sol'd but had a spare starter, and a small fuel leak in the valley which I hope I resolved last night.

Wow that was fast. Great job!

Thanks a ton JD, I had everything together pretty well before I started the swap. I'm just :D that its not making oil and seems to be fine otherwise too. :happydance:

Need a Tune

The trans is done (maybe  ) http://duramaxdiesels.com/forum/showthread.php?t=31274

I put my boost bleeder valve on yesterday and went for a rip. Max boost with the bleeder wide open was 38 PSI and EGT was only 1050 :D

I flashed in a "warmish" tune I had for stock turbo but its way too laggy with the twins. I'll get my head around tuning but the roads are dry and its a beauty day to let the cat outta the bag.

Anyone got a tune to share? [email protected]

Do you have the MAF rescaled in the tune?

No, I didn't touch anything. My learning curve of EFI is about to begin now that the hardware is close; no lift pump yet.

It's a long shot request and I'm not going to get into tuning today

The sun came out today for the nicest day we've had this year :D and I'm headed out to enjoy it (car show, etc) :thumb:
