Okay i replaced the engine in a 03 LB7 2wd single cab longbox, actually dmaxstore's old truck. This engine came out of my racetruck, and it ran good in that truck without problems.

Here's my issue. All ready to fire up and when i turn ignition on there is no PRND, it takes like 5 seconds for the dashlights to light up, radio comes on for couple seconds and shuts off, it does not engage the starter when i try starting it, the fass will shut off when i turn key to start, and when i hook up my flashscan it says $0280 No Vehicle Detected :mad:

I'm lost, i swapped TCM, ECM, Starter, Checked all grounds, i don't know what to do anymore, need this truck going asap ugh

Anyone ever had this or heard of this before?

Thanks
Rony

But why? I used all the same wiring off the old engine, only thing that's different is the ficm I used the one on the replacement engine

Did you use the bcm from the old truck and move it to the new truck.Bcm's are vin sensitive I believe so that would need to be moved also.

1 other thing I broke a ground 1 time on the passenger side of the block and it had no communication till I fixed it.

I didn't replace bcm. I am running all the same computers, ECM, TCM, bcm, same engine wiring harness that was on the truck before. I just swapped the longblock, including ficm

Check your grounds.so you did switch the bcm then? Just trying to be clear 1 time you didn't mention switching the bcm and another time you did.

Don"t forget the bcm is usually the hub for class II communication necessary for all to function together.Make sure all modules have the SAME vin programmed in.

Guys, he didn't swap anything electrical! He only swapped the long block. Seems dumb, but have you checked the voltage from each battery separately?

Out at work again for 5 days now so I will dig in further when I get home. No I did not check batteries separately, but batteries were perfect before the swap. I will swap them with batteries from my lly and see what happens but am pretty sure that's not the issue

check ALL your fusses and after that check all your grounds, Most of the time when I've had problems with a "scan tool" not communicating it's been a blown fuse, and depending on the fuse/s it could cause your other problems also.

Check the plug on the crank sensor. Use a meter pos on lite green, neg on yellow/blk. With the key on do you get 12v? Follow that harness back 6" it grounds to the block. It will not crank if that ground is bad.
