After driving it pretty easy came to a stone and the engine is knocking... No smoke. It is about 100* today and the truck never sees this kind of heat. Could it be fuel knock of some sort? I do not have my laptop with me either so logging isn't possible right now

Sounds like you need my built motor sooner then later ;) On a serious note its hard to say without any logs or hearing it in person, but if all your gauges are reading normal and no excessive smoke out of the crank case or exhaust I would just run it and see if it goes away.. (Obviously check your oil/fluids) Good Luck!

Oil psi is good... Recently replaced the water pump and we over torqued the nut on the balancer doubt that has anything to do with it

Thanks guys it is def. an injector issue, as I pulled up my driveway I heard injector rattle coming from the driver side and low and behold #5 is +15... What is "ice picking"?

Sounds like to me the injector is sticking open if your +15,not sure if that is alot but a buddy of mine had injector sticking issues in his lb7 sounded just like a rod knocking.its done it to him 3 times that i know of.He tripples his power service in the fuel and it goes away

oh it def. sounds like rod knock... I drove the truck 30 miles home last night and it got ok then bad again. I'd prefer to not poke holes through my connector but maybe i will have too. I have just started running an 2 part additive IIRC this is the 2nd tank ha

be careful tho, have a friend with an 06 lbz that an injector was stuck wide open and and all but 1 hole in the tip was pluged and he basicly fuel jeted a hole in the piston.no joke. They said it was from running his truck so many times on low rail presure it was packed with fine aluminum.he didnt get a lift pump till after he had efi live for awhile.

There is also absolutely no smoke coming out of the exhaust. It also starts just fine but I can smell fuel

can you shut down that injector completely like you can with the tech 2? if it is only partly stuck and the injector wont try to inject fuel it would be intertesting to see if the knock goes away, would probably have a miss to it but it would be a good test.I am not that worldly in this area just a couple things i have picked up alomg the way and trying to offer any ideas i possibly can.Ive been there before and apperciate any ideas
